Why Staff/Dagger Get Bigger Buff Than Sword?
S/P was very strong before the patch. S/D still needs some love but a 30% buff on AA is a decent buff.

Sword has satisfying damage and syncs particularly well with sigil of rage, though the random proc makes it unreliable.
The main issue, namely autoattacks not syncing well with sword/dagger 3, have been fixed. Autoattack 1’s third phase rooting you was just bad.
They should revert S/D #3 change if not more damage.
Maybe it deserved nerf before but with these elite specs now it would not be op

Is Anet really that stupid?
It’s not stupidity. It’s a strategic decision to remove S/x from PvP or in tourney. It’s plain obvious — they want to limit the number of weapon set they need to balance. Before it’s just D/P, then Staff starts to creep in.
Sword would be problematic because it can overshadow Staff and that would be bad for business — they need to sell HoT.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
