Why is Quickness on such a huge CD

Warrior – Frenzy – 60s CD baseline
Engineer – Elizer U – 50s CD baseline
Ranger – Quickening Zephyr – 60s CD baseline
Thief – Haste – 60s CD baseline
Guardian – Feel my Wrath – 30s CD baseline
Mesmer – Time Warp – 180s CD baseline
Mesmer’s is 10s long and effects a whole party if everyone stays in it so I suppose that justifies the long CD (maybe). Guardian’s lasts 5s instead of the standard 6s associated with all the others, but that really isn’t much a drawback compared to being party wide and only having a 30s CD. And engineer’s just seems to have a 10s less CD for some unknown reason. But none of them are a 15s cooldown, even when traited.
It’s on like 15s cd on warrior and it’s insane…
Especially when rampaging with berserker amulet…
I agree that it has too much cd…
and trickery trait is pretty weak, rangers -with the respective trait- remove 2condis and gain fury while u only remove 1condi yet not even rangers use quickness. It also competes with bountiful theft which is a must even if trickery trait grows stronger in the future.
All quickness utis should get a cd reduction.

Ah the trait that gives quickness. Warriors is 4s of quickness and only quickness on 15s CD and thieves is 6s of quickness and 6s of fury on a 36s CD. The thief one can also potentially remove a condition if traited for that. Different things are different I guess. Warrior’s version has a lower CD but it doesn’t give fury for 6s and doesn’t last as long.
Warrior trait one (Heightened Focus) is not on demand and gives no other effects except the swiftness; it only applies when hitting someone at under 50% health, and is not just a proc for Frenzy (so no stun break, either).
It’s strong, but a trait a lot of wars don’t use. I think the real culprit behind rampage + Heightened Focus is… you guessed it… rampage.
Rampage is blatantly OP. Even warriors are asking for nerfs to it (myself included; I main war in sPvP due to D/D thief’s lack of consistency) because it’s just faceroll -> kill enemy team -> move on.
Though it does make for some great moa opportunities.

I’ve never been a fan of CD over 30 seconds because it diminishes engaging combat and are often not used because players always pick skills with shorter CD for utility. But I think the CD is there because there are other ways to access quickness on many classes and a rune that also activates quickness.
It’s also stun break. And you can trait for 2 of it, one on 36s on flank (hardly stunbreak but still), one 48s on demand + 1 condi cleanse.
On top of that, improvisation.
It’s does wonders on a s/d DA – acro – trick build. Same goes for s/p but pistolwhip spam is the most cheesy teef playstyle, so i personnaly don’t care.
Thrill of the crime + bountiful theft are overrated habits, very good but no longer mendatory.
Flanking strikes + trickster + improvisation + swindler’s equilibrium (sleight of hand still) is a wonderful yet underrated trait combo (withdraw – haste – RFI).
Mesmer rune / rune of the pack, whichever.
I’m not the best teef out there so i can’t always make the best out of it but i assure you with so much dodge at your disposal you won’t regret that zerker amy.
Gotta have extremely fast reflexes though, which can be an issue against others teefs when they open from stealth but don’t immediately show up (is it just me or something broke regarding this ?).
It doesn’t need buffed, quickness is powerful as hell for burst. Heightened focus needs to be toned down and maybe add a secondary effect instead. Too much quickness is not what this game needs, especially right now…

Because Thief is in line to be deleted. If you want something that pumps damage and looks sick doing it, go ranger and build quickness spam. You basically have quickness for 20 seconds without it dropping. Fairly disgusting, managed to murder a thief after getting 9k backstabbed. Waiting for ANet to buff thief because…I won a fight with 6k hp, against a thief who got the drop, by just pressing 1. Le balance mates, le balance. Need to change my signature to “Was a thief, then I took a nerf to the kidneys”.

Yes. At least to dps thief. I haven’t tried a serious build against a condi thief, but I’d only have to swap a single trait to be able to pull what I did. Might lower my dps…5%? Possibly 10?
