evade spam is not viable in zerg vs zerg wvwvw, low armor /hp , poor acces to stability .0 acces to protection, you cannot keep up with guard /war melle train

in regards to bunker, p/d with carrion and/or dire can be pretty tanky.

Like said above. Spvp S/D Soldiers. WvW P/D dire or just good play.

Which can be countered with poison, which you can have alot of.

in regards to bunker, p/d with carrion and/or dire can be pretty tanky.

p/d condition thief is great a roaming but in group play not so much. Yes as pd you have lots of survivability but your damage is meh when compared to other condi builds such a necro or engi. Average dmg and very limited group support, your teamates will be targeted and killed but hey atlest you will survive right?

You can certainly take the role of a bunker if the group needs it, but you will not be very proficient in it you can certainly stay alive via stealth or even some evades but these can work against the idea of holding a point.

I think the “no trinity” is twisted a bit. You can DPS, and you can support, just fine as a thief, you can hold nodes but only for short bursts of time. So in an emergency you can bunker but you can’t do it fulltime well.

even if I agree that this kind of build could be quite hard to kill, it still needs to move for avoiding damage, forcing yourself to leave the node sometimes, also the damage output is far from being decent.
A warrior can bunker with block\endure pain\healing signet\stability\berserker stance and at the same time deal a good amount of damage and CC for supporting the team much better.

Every class can “bunker” just depends on your definition of “bunker” . Every class has access to soldier gear or amulet etc. Every class has access to traits that can help them bunker. Your trade off is that you either can’t kill another bunker or have very long fights against other bunkers.

still there are classes better than others in that role. That’s why you don’t see thieves bunker in high rated pvp matches.
I’m not saying every class should be able to do everything, any class can excel in some single role, but I would like to know in which role thieves are preferred over any other class in the current state of the game (talking about Team Arena).
