I dnt get it while other classes are improvised while thiefs suffer nerfs ok LS was op they removed understood but nerfing stealth (which is alreadya bit bugged as pve mobs seem to sense us even though we r in stealth and hit us).Stealth is like a base skill of every thief and they nerf it .I dnt get the intention if they want to balance by nerfing they should provide some alternative which is useful instead of venom share and pistol mainhand meh….feeling a bit angry and ppl still want them to nerf us .I say why dnt the devs since they keep nerfing us for our stealth remove the stealth element completely and introduce some thing useful instead of being so mindlessly wasting a whole trait line for us .And thief haters feel happy since u succedeed

Welcome Dagger Thieves to S/P! Now you are being aligned with the infamous 1%Thief Players in the game.

Honest the changes I whole hardedly agree with. I am a Thief and I have seen nothing but abuse on the nerfs they did – Abuse Ability, Devs will eventually come change it. These wont be the last I am sure, but we are not stealth Gods and too many think that’s how we were built. We are escape artists with dps. That’s it.

ANET is in love with casters. Seriously, reading the patch notes was a joke. OP classes get more OP buffs, added range on runaways, more power and healing, etc etc but the things that give thief an edge get toned down… For the love of God someone ball up and stop listening to QQ’ers who whine that thief is OP. Thief is pretty much the only class that isn’t a skill-less faceroll now.

I’ve never seen harder failing at class balance before in my life.

As a thief, I can admit that perma stealth with zero hard counters was op’d. those of you who rely on that crutch will have to l2p like the rest of us thieves who took the higher road.

I’ve never seen harder failing at class balance before in my life.

This is just a first impression so it requires more thorough testing, but the reduction to 1 boon steal (while being left at 2 initiative, inexplicably), seems more severe than it looks on paper. Bunkers are back to generating boons faster than you can strip them, even when you hit with 75% ore more of your LS’s. Just like it was pre LS, when the first strike of old FS stripped a boon. Since anet is so fond of “Shaving” rather than nerfing, they should have tried 1 steal 1 strip before reverting back to removing 1 boon from bunkers.

Or, if you really wanted to target boon bunkers without screwing over other classes with less boon access, have LS remove one of the following – Protection, Aegis, Regeneration, Vigor, and also steal 1 boon – that way, when you’re targeting non bunkers, you’re only stealing 1 boon.

If you’re a thief and haven’t
pre-ordered HOT at this point,
save yourself the money and don’t bother.

And what the kitten is with the non-documented nerf to Shadow’s Embrace? Remove 1 condition every TEN seconds instead of 3? Forget to put that in the patch notes on purpose?

So now we have even less condi-removal, then essentially the none (unless traited for shadow’s embrace) we had before. So we get condi-spammed by necro/ele/engi and can’t stealth to heal up because shadow refuge is such a hilarious telegraph that you just blast, swing, or necro-well the area and we die anyways because of our hilariously low HP pool. Stealth wears off long before ANY conditions will.. oh and on top of that, yeah, we can still get channeled while in stealth too, remember that?

All I see are thieves giving giving giving up elements that made the class work, and every other class getting getting getting more and more and more. Why don’t devs use the same thought process they use for thieves when “updating” other classes instead of handing them everything like candy.

This is a tooltip error. It still works correctly at 3 second intervals.

Not a really good thief anyways. No hard counter to perma-stealth? Lets see, stand around black powder circle, thief is forced to heartseeker you. Stand on edge of cliff or against wall, thief can’t backstab you. Immobilize, stun, or fear the thief are also very effective. Pretty much just destroyed your point.

I could not agree more with this statement. I took the high road after picking up a Sword and a Pistol and never looked back. Thought the developers have not really given much to that setup it’s still more fun than a D/D build, that’s for sure. S/P: where a Thief really does have to L2P
