Just wondering if anyone will be playing some Pistol/Pistol after the update. The initiative regen base is going to help it out a lot, and I’m hoping it will be enough to make p/p viable.

P/P is the rabbit I can never catch. No matter what they change, I still cannot find builds that allow for top tier dueling, there’s always a build or profession that does it better. Fingers crossed.

what? opportunist nerf alone counters the initiative regen increase and change. add in quick recovery and it’s a net nerf.

All is vain.

Ah I didn’t see the internal addition to opportunist. I never liked quick recovery though anyways. Oh well, another disappointing patch for p/p

Whether they buff or nerf P/P I will still use it because there’s no other ranged weapon alternative.

No! Shortbow sucks IMO. I hate that weapon with a passion.

This

On the other hand, I actually like the new Opportunist changed because right now beside Unload the other 3 skills don’t work well with Opportunist because of the low attack rate they have. With the new changed, Opportunist will have a better chance to trigger when not using Unload. With that said, I still believe 5sec CD is a little overkilled. I would love to see it 4sec CD or maybe even 3sec CD.

Also with the new changed to ini regen, you will regen 2.5 more ini every ten second without the Quick Recovery. That is already better than the one we have right now even when we add Quick Recovery to it.

All is vain.

I hate the range, but most of the skills are very useful in SB.

Of course P/P looks more like a thief weapon of choice but i don’t see a viable use coming for next months =(.

If they could rework totally the #2 skill to give some mobility support . . . or stealth with high ini cost . . .

P/P is a set that is still absolutely awesome for some encounters, even if D/D blows it away on most others. An example of this is the rotating laser fight in the Aetherblade fractal/dungeon. You can do this fight as melee if you’re skilled, but you’ll be spending so much time running in and out of melee that the damage boost of melee weapons is lost.

There seem to be a lot of melee vs P/P debates on forums, but considering that a 25/30/0/0/15 trait investment is the highest dps setup for both D/D and P/P, I don’t see why more people don’t simply use both, depending on the encounter. =P

QFT.
Like I said in another thread like this one: I’ve spent too much time investing in a “workable” Gunslinger build. Folk are still getting shot to pieces.

Difference is SB is a utility weapon and P/P is (supposed to be) a damage weapon.

doing fine right now with 5 15 0 20 30 but have to test the new patchwork first. maybe some ini traits will be troughn out and some condi cleanse come in. but the Overall gameplay with endless initiative usage and max vigor gain shouldnt be interrupted. cant tell that just be Theorie.

the less strong old weaponsets become the stronger becomes pp imo. i`m playing it a bit like teambattleaxe as noninvis build and the movement abilities are just incredible.

just my thoughts on pp. its not meant for 1vx situations that u could handle melee but it shines in xvx where u think twice to hop in these massive aoes and as playing noninvis its all about avoiding dmg from the beginning. shikemaru (hope its written right) has one really solid looking invis build with pp but i miss the agility and the in your face attitude there to much.

I love P/P but I stopped playing it based on the coming patch notes. As stated, the nerf to opportunist alone is enough to put me off this set completely.

Anyway, levelling an engineer now and having a ton of fun with it.

Meh, SB could have been a damage weapon if not for the horrible attack speed of skill #1. Also the fact that they’ve remove the homing ability of skill #1 just killed this weapon for me. Now your target will simply strafe back and forth and you’ll never gonna hit them because your attack speed is slow and your arrow’s flight speed is also slow. Everything else is dodgeable.

They need to buff the arrow flight speed by 30% on oll the SB skills like they did to ranger and warrior bows

I’ll still be playing mine. Hopefully the ini-regen vs. opportunist isn’t too hurtful, but I’m sure something can be “worked out”.

I just remembered, they nerfed the range of all the SB skills too. >.<’ This weapon received so much hate and we’re still waiting to get compensated.
