Withdraw is still missing the 10% base healing buff it supposedly got a few patches ago.

Can we please have any word as to what’s going on here? This isn’t conjecture, or something that was mentioned in a preview and then changed – it’s right in the patch notes. It just didn’t happen.

If you’re a thief and haven’t
pre-ordered HOT at this point,

It is so annoying to see others being corrected and yet this still remains untouched. What, precisely, makes it so difficult to do?

Additional irritants are still losing 6 init when SB5 fails in the shadowstep due to no path, teleport in down state not working as you’re on a surface that doesn’t enable it (or you’re trying to do it over a path that’s supposedly invalid despite being level).

I’d also love to hear why such bugs aren’t being fixed, whereas other classes appear to have lots of bugs fixed. Is it that these aren’t “bugs”, or is thief being intentionally ignored with regards to bugs?

I already tried multiple times but you’ll have ppl in a few hours say “what they showed on stream is never final”. Which is somewhere true but there was no communication from Anet to say “hey, we’re not gonna buff Withdraw”.

As of this moment, after months, still no word about it.
As far as it’s feels, they’re letting Thief die, despite their hard work on Dare Devil..

Fixing bugs or things not properly working as intended should not require a patch every 6 months but should be an hot fix done few hours after the patch is out.

Thief might not be as strong as last year
but they’re a lot stronger
than they will be next year!

But it’s not just “something they said in a stream” – it’s right there in the patch notes! I have a screenshot AND I saved the .htm page from the game release notes forum in case they change their mind about it later, but currently it’s a documented change that was just skipped.

Edit: Here’s the bullet point, copied and pasted from the June 23rd patch notes -

-Withdraw: This ability is now a trick. Increased the recharge of this ability from 15 to 18. Healing (both base and healing power) coefficients have been increased by 10%.

If you’re a thief and haven’t

Lower TG by 60 seconds( 120 base cd)
Make DS CONSISTENT

Then we talk about withdraw. Unless you guys are willing to help me campaign for dagger storm being consistent (standing on top of someone and getting 0 hits is bogus).

People are complaining about Withdraw because it was listed in a patch as getting an increase, but it didn’t. Even going by ArenaNet’s usual treatment of Thief, that is pretty egregious. I have a hunch that when they do finally address it, the patch note will read “Fixed a tooltip error that caused Withdraw to appear to heal for more than it did.”

See also: Ankle Shots. Their idea for how to deal with it being the last range increasing trait in the game was to remove the range increase without integrating it baseline (unlike just about every other range increasing trait removed in/since June). This leaves Pistol with the same disgustingly short range of 900 and makes an already bad trait useless. To add insult to injury, Ankle Shots still sports a +10% damage bonus in the tooltip that doesn’t actually do anything, meaning the only reason to take it would be for a 60% chance on crit to cripple for 3s with a 10s ICD… which is literally worse than a Sigil.

If you can’t even rely on patch notes or ability descriptions doing what they say, then it’s unlikely any bigger changes are going to happen either. We couldn’t even get a bugfix on Scorpion Wire last patch when they fixed an identical bug with Engineer Magnet…

It seems that they just want people to forget all about the promised healing increase to justify the CD increase.

With how they treat professions the devs aren’t into at the time, I’d say it’s more likely they just forgot and can’t be bothered going through the hundreds of posts to see what people are talking about.

They just need more employees…

It does seem a bit underhanded to say you got X because Y was increased, and then never actually provide X.

Hopefully we can get some clarification before HoT hits, because Withdraw will be a more prominent skill with dodges being our new “thing”.

this is a fair point. Basalisk Venom’s the only good elite and it’s only really good in PvP/WvW.
