Would you enjoy stealth more like this?
If we get 10 extra base initiative and extra regeneration outside stealth, maybe.
I missed something? Apparently the thieves now have invulnerable and protection, like other profession.
A nice thought, however it would be underpowered for backstab thieves who would end up draining all their ini getting into position for a backstab. On the flip side it would be overpowered for ranged thieves who would only need to tap it to trigger a stealth attack. Can you imagined chained stuns with the shortbow or chained unloads with the pistol every 3 seconds while only spending 1 ini instead of the usual 6 to re-enter stealth?
Also, would our abilities like shadow refuge also drain our ini? No thanks.

Stealth is fine IMO. It costs half our normal ini bar to cloak and dagger. They already nerfed it with the 3 second debuff. Best wait until the rendering is fixed before any changes here.

I made a suggestion similar to the OPs before.
The problem I have with Stealth currently is that Cloak & Dagger is our only “on demand” Stealth ability we have. Sure, we have other sources of Stealth but they tend to be limited by long cooldowns and are required for more than just Stealthing.
With a Stealth mechanic that drained our Initiative we could have “on demand” Stealth for a lot more weapon setups. It would also emphasize Stealth as a defensive tool, rather than an offensive tool used to prepare big hits. Since we can’t dump 10+ Initiative into a target when coming out of Stealth it would probably be easier to balance as well.
Obviously though this would require a pretty fundamental rework of many of the Thief mechanics and traits.
I was thinking (I know dangerous right) What if we had stealth as a toggled skill with an initiative drain over time. Choosing the right amount of degeneration would be key to balancing this, but to stop stealth spam put a 3 second cool-down on the skill in place of the revealed de-buff. This would make thief’s think more tactically about running or committing to a fight rather than just being able to reset a fight by using shadow refuge. This will never happen of-course just because the amount of changes we would need with utilities and traits. But i thought it was an interesting idea and would like to read your opinions on it. There’s nothing at all wrong with how stealth works now; it’s already infinitely better than in any other games.
The only issue is the rendering bug and annoying little kids that figured out forum access.
