Would you use a trait on thief if it helped ignore all invulns and defensive buffs on your target so all attacks hit, but it’ll be noncrits or half the condi stack and durations only? Or something of that concept

Probably not tbh, as that would make steal and headshot ludicrously OP since the daze would then interrupt the block, returning you to dealing full damage on subsequent hits.

That’s very generic. All outgoing attacks forever? Is there an ICD? Stealth attacks only? There are tons of variables.

I see it being absolutely overpowered or just straight terrible. I’ll reserve judgement unless full details are provided, but it’s still a rather gimmicky idea imho.

Yea it is kinda vague, it’s just that recently here on the forums and ingame I keep hearing about thieves and nonstop blocks and invulns. So I just thought I’d pop in the forum and like I said, throw in a general concept of that and see if a discussion would get started on it with ideas or whatnot and opinions on it

It shouldn’t be a dependency to make a profession/weapon work via a trait.

There are simply just too many blocks and invuln effects in the game currently. HoT powercreep, both offensive and defensive, needs toning down.

Answering power creep with potential power creep on a very niche build option gets nobody anywhere.

No — because it’s counter-intuitive. The whole point of a trait that ignores defenses is to bypass said defenses so you can deal full damage. If this trait will cripple that damage, then what’s the point? Might as well wait out the duration of their defense and unload full damage on the target.

For other professions, this trait might be a good trade off since they can afford it having cooldown based skills, but not for Thieves. Thieves’ initiative resources is precious and for each initiative spent, it has to count for some big return.
