This build will make Mesmer whine, because I can max out 4 thieves and rock dog if the timing is right. I do have high crit damage for d/d and with all the distraction they lose me in the mix. I have a better video to show, which is almost done. The little perma stealth thieves are no issue as well.

That’s understandable. They do a wonderful job one-shorting your thieves, just like any mesmer.

I personally think this build isn’t that great. I fought you outside stonemist the other day. The fight just went on and on, since you were running -condi food and kept running away :P

Classes with a lot of AOE or cleave would counter this pretty well. Imagine a necro using signet of spite and then epidemic. Bam, there goes all of your DPS.

Also, not a fan of using AI for damage. Takes no skill and just ads to the already prominent petting zoo.

Personally I like playing builds with an inherent disadvantage. Right now I’m running an S/P build that I posted earlier on the forums which uses a human racial elite for chilled and poisoned stacking and do just fine. It’s fantastic for juking people out and going in when everything is on cooldown. And no, I’ve never heard of you/met you, sorry :/

OO so you was being Creative in a since, Meaning not many people us it, because of it disadvantage. Well, if you’re going to be like that.

You missed ALOT of cloak and daggers both in our fight and in the video, and most of the time you were doing damage to me, you were actually sitting in SR while your thieves DPS’d me. Due to running negative condi food and having a lot of cleanses your spec countered mine very well, especially since I was running double p/d and had zero cleave to deal with your thieves.

So yeah, I guess I’m saying the only reason you didn’t die was because your super cheesy spec counters my build very well. And also because you have much more mobility than I did, which you used very effectively to run away.

I tried not to be a kitten, but y’know. If you’re going to twist my words…

1v1 oriented build with low burst, enough “burst” and “damage” to kill someone only can be achieved once in 3 minutes (thieves guild cd)… If that warr was a decent hambow you would prob lose really easy or you would get low on health and run away, as all thieves can do.

PS: i dont like 1v1 builds in wvw since most of time i dont fight 1v1 since im on a t1 server…. usually its 1vX… but thats just me

I am trying to remember our battle you speak of Maesk, You must be the Sylvari thief with with Perplex runes I think for HOD server? Clan Tag [UDW} in EB at SM, that was a very interesting fight Viking JOrun.5413 was there too for GOM-[SB}

People that label others Cheesy=Intimidation simply because they got beat by them and refuse accept there loss or unable to down him/her. Therefore, adding cheesy helps the pride but not the skill to progress.

Another person explain this well in a different discussion:

If only people played it for fun like they use too. Experiment with others and learn. Builds are defined and used in order of “best of”. If you try something new or off beat you get dominated by what people call “cheese”(best of). Builds are not secret, they are not unique. If you play something “new” and you lose on it the “pro” players with “unique” builds will snuff you as a bad player. If you play a build that competes you are “cheese”. We need to lose the double standard and arrogance.

Really sucks for the original pioneers who worked hard polishing the “go to” builds everyone complains about.

I enjoy fighting any and all builds at anytime. I get aggravated with my own self for bad targeting or lack of rotation speed, but don’t care what the opposition plays anymore.

Of course, the best way to counter this is to either stealth or flee from the fight until Thieves Guild goes away, which is something the warrior didn’t do…

I’m not calling the build cheesy because I was intimidated by it, I’m calling it cheesy because it requires very little player input, and its pretty much a one trick pony.
As I said earlier, if you’re against someone with a lot of cleave/aoe then the thieves are going to die very quickly and you’re going to lose a huge chunk of your dps.

Its a spec that is very easily countered by something a lot of classes have and once it is countered you’re left with low DPS and low utility.

And yeah, that thief was me, UDW tag, quip. But no perplexity runes.

Meh, the video shows that the Warrior messed up big time. She had you stunned but instead of swapping to GS to do 100-blades, she used 1-H sword burst instead. /facepalm

EDIT: Hmm, at the second look, she did used 100-blades…that’s some kitten damage. That warrior is fail.

O my, The purple Guardian (MU), i thought we had good o fight. I am deeply offended, i believe it was a fair fight. I mean, you use what you got and i use what i have. Not sure whats the prob. and it wasnt just 3 thieves, you cant forget the rock dog You should ask me to fight you again, and again, and again, and again until you find my weakness. That what duels are for IMO. Instead of “I WIN so that means i am better then you”. I will show you the video on that one, to study.

So I have seem to get a lot of negative support from my fellow thieves, (which seems most are all from HOD or GOM) Here is a Happy Battle song to cheer you guys or ladies up on my play style. Now, I am thinking outside the box, You all are so fixated on the thieves and no one really seeing why I use all these AI, the damage that they do is low (maybe except the rock dog) and just a small reason I use them. So just think and watch, Maybe the Jedi Mind Tricks is affecting you too.

If you change your gear to duelist and color them black, you can go in stealth and summon the guild and your opponent will take a while to sort things out.

Theres nothing wrong with it, as long as you are prepared to listen, be reasonable and accept the fact that you arent showing anything special in the videos……… ur pretty bad actualy, both of u

If you change your weapons to Sword/Pistol, you can immobilize your target with Skill #2 so that when your Rock Dog attacks, it will hurt. Also with S/P, you can use the mini-hundred blades (skill #3).

This way, you are participating in the fight by serving them in a silver platter for your pets.

EDIT: On additional note, if you are going to change to S/P, I’d suggest that you also change Shadow Step with Scorpion Wire. The more you can control the movement of your opponent, the more damage they will receive from your pets.

This build is terrible. Low damage and High cd, it’s like my Shadow trap p/p build, it’s fun but it’s not efficient in most scenarious.

The thing is if you can kill players with that low damage without thieves guild theres only 2 options:
1- you are facing upleveled players

2- you are facing really bad/bot players…

You damage is to low without thieves guild and even with it its not that grt/can be easily avoided. This doesnt mean you will not be able to kill other players… there are a lot of bad player out there. I once killed bad players in wvw using only calltrops and caltrops on dodge with pistol off hand (no main hand) and a immobilize venom… <this doesnt mean that this spec is viable or good.

Thats only my opinion though

XD okay, now I remember you. That pesky HoD thief running a broken easy mode perplexity condition build was ridiculous fighting on my D/D build with little condition removal.

Thing i don’t even understand, your build doesn’t even make sense, you dont have crt dmg yet you use hidden killer, you go tanky when you clain that the thieves “disguise you, like mesmers” wouldn’t the point of that be go GC so you can actually kill something? Besides on the thieves it clearly says “(world) pet”, only a kitten could confuse the real one.

Besides of this, low damage build with only escape utilities, and heavily dependant on 3min cd elite (face it, you’d never win against a decent player with those stats, if you weren’t able to run away). So yeah, overall terrible pointless build and pretty bad build.

For the milionth time, I dont run plex runes.

If you had confusion on you at all it was from someone else, or there was a engie I stole to. Also, I noticed in that vid I didnt have my condi duration food on, and you were running -condi food, so that pretty much halved my dps on you.

That video shows you running multiple times.

Well then, good luck with your build. If you don’t know why scorp-wire is better than shadow step for this build, then you are hopeless.
