Just some fights I put together on Sept 16th. Some of the fights were pretty fun. I didn’t spend very much time on this video cause I wanted to see how it would turn out and i’m impatient but I think thief lovers will enjoy it. I tried to keep the fights to outnumbered odds only 3v1 or fighting multiple level 80s sometimes more then once in the same encounter etc. I did put some clips of thief survivability in the video as well just to show how well the thief can move around the map and how nice our escape ability’s work. I tried not to pick the clips where I only had flawless wins. Just to be perfectly clear I do not run a power spec. Tried to pick clips where people put up a good fight. An a couple clips of just some funny stuff I saw. Hope you enjoy its my first video feel free to comment.

I also am showing you some really good info. Thieves are very important in the WvW matches. We are easily able to solo capture a supply camp.. Dragonbrand rarely has 3orbs of power 0_0 especially not when the video was being recorded or I would have more health. So if your just replying to be a hater please check the video again most of the opponents have orb buff themselves.
Dragonbrand has been pretty much in map control for awile, You had 3 orbs of power yesterday while everyone had 0, I know that for a fact because I was playing yesterday.
I’m not sure if that was the case when you filmed it, but I will assume so since the enemies your fighting have 0.
I just don’t want a video showing how “Awesome” thief is when you have such a big advantage, especially if your in full exotic gear and 80 fighting lower levels.
So according to the orb buffs in the video and the fact you linked a picture taken today and claimed it is my current stats I do believe your just trolling. Cause I doubt anyone will believe a troll when you link a picture of today when dragonbrand currently has 207k points and try to say it was taken on sept 16th which was 3 days ago. That would mean we gained 2k points in 3 days with a huge lead like that? Video’s are filmed before they are published unless you have unlocked time travel. It was published the morning of the 17th and filmed before that.
I am going to post another video shortly with commentary with some pretty epic fights some 5v1 and more. Also I will show some cool tips for people who don’t already know to do some epic soloing that your team will sure appreciate in WvW. Enjoyed making a video so I will take my time and make a even better one shortly one that shows my gear and build/traits.
This movie is an excellent illustration of how powerful the thief can be in the hands of an average player. He is not bad but due to the power/mobility/survivability of his class he is playing he is destroying people or easily escaping. Good video tho, very entertaining if you like the blatant imbalances of this game rubbed in your face. no worries though, my new main thief is almost level 80 rdy to faceroll people in wvw!
Which imbalance would that be? Stacking all power and using Haste to burst people down in 2 clicks of sword/pistol? Or using gimmick burst specs that can kill people once per 45seconds like the backstab + 150% dmg spec? I don’t even spec power or use these. In fact the only flaw GW2 currently has is these gimmick burst specs that allow people to die instantly to players who do not know how to counter it. Which is just exploiting the new factor of this game and taking advantage of new players that get attracted to this genre of video games. Eventually those gimmick spec’s will get toned down and people will figure out what is going on so people like me are not even remotely worried about them. That an the fact we rarely die cause of it. But mostly because I don’t rely on it to get kills.

^lol cause people like to whine when their glass cannon builds gets owned in a 1v1 versus a class that will get the jump on you unless you’re a mesmer.
I rue the day warriors, guardians and engineers learn how to play this game trying to win 1v1s.
My Crit/Condition build can do the same. About the same. Mainly Twisting Fang for tons of bleed, Dancing Dagger and then Twisting Fang after Dancing Dagger, then pull back to let skills reset and do again. If I screw up though I die as I am kinda Glass Cannony
The imbalance is the thief has no trade off for going all power/crit and zero defence. Stealth is better then EHP because you avoid the damage. I don’t understand your statement. So you DON’T use the instant gib 45sec cd spec, nor do you use the all power/crit spec. However, you admit to owning in several encounters with your medium damage spec in green gear? So how does this not support my argument? What you did here is not spectacular.
The counters to thiefs in open world wvw don’t exsist. pistal whip can be used repeatedly even after the opponent uses a stun break. backstab CnD spec can be dodged during the thief’s inital attack, but a good thief will stealth and regen init then repeat. etc.. etc..
Honestly very entertaining movies and you are good at editing and only showing clips your audience enjoy seeing, but i challenge you to get the same footage as a necro or ele or even an engy. Will never happen because those classes lack the abilities of thief to achieve this kind of power.
If you think open world counters to thief don’t exist you’re one of the most ignorant people around, haha. Even a bad engineer player is challenging if they throw turrets down and turtle in one spot.
It’s okay humorless, everyone always has a very narrow opinion and believe that what they experience is universal and no one else has any different experiences, But i know exactly what you mean about those engineers they are smart to stay in “safe zone” and wait.
Lol, ok i am sorry i must be ignorant of the toughness turtle engi build which can mitigate a lot of damage if the engi drops all his utlity skills and stays in one spot. To bad this build is only useful in Spvp and Tpvp when trying to hold points and has nothing to do with the current topic. Again my bad for being “Ignorant”! Ya my experience has been so different from everyone one else, i guess we have to ignore the countless posts and threads about the thief’s current balance. I am not saying you guys are better then mesmers!!! I am simply saying you could not reproduce the same footage using a necro, ele or engi.
F.Y.I the turtle engI build would be boring to watch even if it could survive vs a thief.
