Hey vet theifies out there, I main a mes and I have just been getting into my theif. D/P is fun in pvp and what not but I leveled my theif from 1-70 through pvp and now I am tired of D/P xD. Plus all that stealth and what not is meh to me. S/P burst is shweet, I have been running 25/30/0/0/15 and the damage is incredible but if the wind blows in my direction I am toast. Anyone know of a viable S/P build? or is it just a l2p type of issue here
Ah, S/P, I love that weapon set! I played it a lot in WvW before the recent buffs, with great results I dare say. This is what I played then and still do some times. You could mix inn some Valkyrie or Knight’s gear if you want more survivability. I don’t really find the need for it though since the key is to interrupt all of the important skills the enemy uses and strip boons like stability, retaliation or protection (retaliation is a real pain against pistol whip) with steal.
S/P coupled with a trickery build is pretty much interrupt/immobilize to death. You’ll find it harder to fight outnumbered fights due to the squishyness of the thief, but if you play it well you’ll manage. Just try and experiment with this, make it your own build by swapping traits, gear, runes, sigils or skills – make it so you feel comfortable playing it. S/P is an amazing and very dangerous weapon set if played right! Would be very awesome to see more S/P thieves out there, since we’re pretty few :/
Edit: learn the shadow step → infiltrators strike → steal combo to travel insane distances within a second. Amazing if you need to chase down someone.
ahh I see I see. so you are just running s/p and snagging all the steal traits.. yeah in pvp I take a ton of the steal traits as well. I really miss hidden killer but since im not going down that line xD. Daze on steal is nasty, and yes that combo carries you super far! Try throwing in Infil Sig to go even farther :P I will give your build a try! Thanks a ton
