I’m thinking about trying a thief. Appearances aside, are there any racials i should take into consideration for wvw (mostly roaming)?

At the moment I’m thinking:
Asura – LOVE the style, dont see a worthwhile racial
Human – female style is ok, Reaper of Grenth worth it?
Norn – hate the male style, like the female style, snowleopard good/needed on a thief?
Sylvari – cant seem to like them, <3 Caithe but thats about it
Charr – just no

Guess it’s mostly Grenth or snow leopard viability that im asking about.
Any input appreciated, t.i.a.

go for Asura or Norn.

Norn = snow leopard or bear form sprint thing with knockdown is OP.
Asura = small and sneaky

Human – Put down a shadow refuge and summon (invisible) hounds of balthazar to surprise your opponent, or become avatar of melandru and invisible cast binding roots (just like the ranger elite). Grenth elite is decent too. But the racial heal/utilities suck tho.

Could do the same with an Asura and its golem summons too I guess, and get access to pain inverter/technobabble/radiation field.

Grasping vines is decent on Sylvari for a thief, as is Take Root elite for condition builds.

No. Chose ethe one you think has the best appearance since noone of the racial skills are betther than thief skills when roaming, btw hounds of balt are way worst dps and doesnt have the interrupt skill that Thieves Guild has.

i agree with walker, the ONLY racial skill i would maybe consider is the norn bear for sprint and knockdown. other than that the default thief elites (thieves guild, daggerstorm, bas venom) are all you need.

Sylvari have a root and daze racial ability right? I’ve seen the guy that makes the Infiltrator Thief videos use it and it seems pretty good. Other then that, most racials are terrible.

They have a root and turrets. The daze is on Asura.

Why use racial skills in wvw? o.O That wastes slots for valuable thief skillz.
Just pick the race you think’s the sexiest.
