WvW/sPvP Build
Assassins Equilibrium is meh.. with S/D utilitzing cloak and dagger often can make the trait good but it is otherwise pretty weak
For WvW without Shadow Arts it is quite difficult to survive the condi spam especially if you are roaming solo
Strength Rune > Eagle Rune
You can swap AE for Power of Inertia might stacking
Most S/D thieves these days use 2/0/6/0/6
Hey dude, cool build! I started using a new setup for S/D last night for WvW, and it is similar to yours. Mine is 0/6/2/6/0. as much as I love “Mug” + poison on steal, I need the condition cleanse in shadow arts. Thieves have pretty miserable condi clear so I think 2 points is a good investment for this, recommend you try this if conditions are giving you trouble.
I would switch up your critical strikes line; I like executioner (though I’ve been using invigorating precision), but I would switch the other two:
you don’t need side strike because you already have 60% crit chance, you’d probably be better off with invigorating precision, or if insistent on damage- signets of power (even with only 1 signet, I think the 5 might is better than 7% crit from behind/side when you already have 60%).
Signet use is a decent trait, even with only infiltrators signet, but I much prefer quickening haste and I think you will too if you try it. The 2s of quickness reallyyy add to my burst damage.
I like your acrobatics traits, I’m switching between assassin’s equilibrium and assassin’s reward. everybody talks down on assassin’s equilibrium, but the 2 seconds feels longer in battle and has saved me a few times. Most deaths seem to start with some sort of crowd control, so I like this trait, although assassins reward is OK too.
overall nice build, but I definitely recommend you try those critical strikes traits I mentioned (especially critical haste), and the shadow arts traits instead of mug if you feel you need more condi removal.
also. sigil air > sigil of force or fire. Personally I would swap your force out for air, but if you really like force than at least switch fire for air. air is only single target, but its higher damage and procs every 3 seconds instead of every 5. Definitely ditch sigil of intelligence on your bow as well. with your crit chance 2/3 shots will likely crit anyway. I would replace with sigil of: air, bloodlust, energy or ice. ice if you like to kite.
as far as gear I would switch a valk or zerker peice or two for knight/cavalier pieces. 1.9k toughness is a bit low,, and 60% crit is very high o you can definitely afford to switch a couple Zerk pieces. also Rune of Pack/Vampirism > Rune of eagle. If you have gold and dont mind dropping pain response for might on dodge, strength runes are great choice as well. However eagle aren’t that bad an arent a huge part of your stats so dont worry about runes until last.
also given our sword #2 skill, I would take signet of agility instead of infiltrators signet, though both are good options. free endurance bar every 30 seconds is OP, with 180 precision when off CD

Hey Guys,
first of all a big thanks to you. I really appreciate your review, especially yours Cam Ron.
So, heres my new Build:
I’ve switched “Side Strikes” to “Practiced Tolerance” in the “Cristical Strikes Line”. “Signets of Power” is also a good choice, but imo only when you have more than one signet selected. With one signet this trait isn’t the best choice, especially when it’s the “Assassins Signet” with it’s rarely used active effect. For this one “Practiced Tolerance” is great, it boosts you health pool with over 1000 HP.
With the switch from “Signet Use” to “Quickening Haste” you are absolutely right. I’m going to try this!
I dont know your gameplay with S/D, but I prefer this kind of rotation:
1. Infiltrators Strike + Blinding Powder + Auto Attack + (Flanking Strike on incoming attacks from your enemy)
2. Infiltrators Return + Infiltrators Strike/Infiltrators Signet (if selected)/Steal => repeat 1.
After I use the Infiltrators Strike + Blinding Powder the “Assassin’s Equilibrium” is a very nice trait in connection with your Auto Attack! But I also will try the Assassin’s Reward.
I agree with your argument about the condi removal – considered this in my new build.
I also switched “Sigil of Force” to “Sigil of Air” on the dagger and selected the “Sigil of Ice” on the shortbow. Then I switched the leggins and the boots to cavalier gear to get more toughness. In favour I switched the earrings and the back so berserker, but instead of exquisit ruby jewels I use exquisit opal jewels to get more preciscion – I think 55% is good rate. Runes switched to Strength becouse of the trait “Power of Inertia” in Acrobatics.
So, what do you think? :o)

For WvW Im full zerker D/P 2/6/6/0/0. That leaves me with just about 13700ish hp, but I have max in guard killer and the other wvw perk which adds another 100 power condi dmg with 2500 hp = roughly 16200ish hp which is fine. Traveler runes for QoL.
For SPvP shadow arts line wont work, still running D/P but the trickery build that is around stealing 2/6/0/0/6. This is with zerker amulet, and having mixed results with divinity runes.
The trickery build struggles more with condi enemies as you only have shadowstep as condi removal.
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore

Looks great, good choice on the strength runes, definitely optimal for damage, and the extra toughness should help a lot, particularly vs other thieves, which seem to be so common. I do however think assassin’s signet is a bit greedy, I like shadow step or agility signet there- but if you’re looking for the pure burst I cant argue with that. I actually go Shadow refuge, shadow step, agility signet, no blinding powder. But if you really like blinding powder I would replace the signet, not shadow step. Shadow sstep is too good- double stun break/teleport/3 conditions removed. Saves my kitten as often as shadow refuge.
Also, Assassin’s equilibrium is growing on me. Assassins reward heals for like 1k per bar of initiative, which isn’t bad, but a blocked stun can preserve you from like 7k damage in one shot. Also, I’m trying to use CnD as often as possible, as its more reliable than larcenous strike now, and I like getting the daze/blind procs as often a possible.
