I main an engie and rarely play a thief. You need a buff. Period. Mesmers and condition anything run a muck while thieves are a mosquito in spvp and wvw. Swatted away.

It’s also hard to get used to the playstyle.:P I just believe that thief needs a little more sustain from condition damage:P But the rest is all fine. I mean with skillful play we can mitigate / avoid most of the damage.

Other classes can avoid ALL the damage by facerolling on the keyboard

I think what Thief needs most is condition removal and some form of 100% damage mitigation.

As far as condition removal is concerned, we need either reliable access to Resistance or something on a <30 second cooldown that clears 3 conditions. I shouldn’t have to burn my Stunbreak/“oh-kitten! button” to remove 3 conditions.

We need access to something more reliable for damage mitigation. Other classes complain and say Stealth is good enough, but surprise-surprise, being invisible doesn’t stop us from getting hit.
Look around… Warrior has 2 Endure pains, Guardians have blocks and invulnerability, Mesmers have their invulnerability and the sword-evade thing, ect, ect. I believe Thief is the only class which lacks a solid damage mitigation ability.
Give us Shadow Form or some crap which gives us a 100% chance to evade for 5 seconds… Idk.

Thief Damage and Utility is fine (except pistol/pistol). We lack good defense… 2 or 3 Dodge rolls and Stealth ain’t a good defense for a class with naturally low vitality and toughness.

Even S/D is outclassed by Ranger S/D – They have more evades than we do!

Agreed we need some defenses and less reliance on stealth (unless you wanna build for it) for damage/survivability.

The times have changed I see a few like these in PvP forums as well.

That moment you get complained at in pvp not for being out rotated or playing bad but because i’m playing thief lol “please don’t play thief”

Hmm I think you should double check what you saying: i got instant downed simply because I stole a Zerky DH. CC a DH an it procs a trap that deals 3 hits dealing about 15-18K instantly. I’ve been hit over 12K by True Shot as well.. And it’s not just DH, every single class deal huge damage by pressing a single button. And before you say anything, thoses kind of spec are viable.
Actually the question is: as a thief how many time can you evade damages before you get instant kill.. Power creep went too far really.
This beta is my worst experience with the game. It going more and more casual /braindead, and i feel playing a game developed by amateurs.. yet I’m still giving a chance to ANet to fix all this mess, but srsly I already gave up any hope.. :-(

Yeah, a mesmer failed to lock me down today, I was able to stealth on one of his clones, he stealthed and likely stood still cause you know “he can’t see me, he doesn’t know where I am huehuehue” A nice backstab downed him.
Thieves have become that rare that people don’t know how to handle them and cry for more nerfs.

Yeah but I once was the master of stealth and that guy stealthed so he should’ve known sobs

Seriously: these guys are so used to faceroll their keyboards and get away with all their stealth, because revealed skills don’t affect them much anyway, that the opinion that stealth has no counter will live on. He probably reported me for cheating.
