did they ever add perma stealth?
perma stealth thief would be to op. this game has a diff combat system then wow. go wvw against a thief and then tell me u want thief to have perma stealth. this game actually takes some skill instead of macroing
Of course not, and thank kitten for it! Why anyone would want that crap is beyond me.
all is vain
everyone would either quit or roll thief if they made it perma stealth
I remember when this game came out and reading the official game guide in which permanent stealth was called a “ludicrous crutch”, I laughed a bit and assumed the developers were also players who never could learn to fight a class with this sort of mechanic and their only way of getting even was to take it away from them. a year later I’ve definitely changed my tune.
Not sitting in stealth until you choose to break it makes you a better player, makes you have to be aware of whats going on all the time, your fights are more strategic, more tactical. Coming from a game that has permanent stealth (no, not wow) I too was really put off that I did not have this ability however, you can stealth yourself every 4 seconds in combat so I guess whats the difference really?
I’ve come to really like how stealth was implemented, or, how it was -intended- to be implemented in guild wars 2.
Come back and give it a chance Nausiation, You might be surprised.
Ferguson’s Crossing [MAIN]
It is possible to perma stealth though, just take D/P and a few traits and you can smoke field + heart seeker for stealth as long as you like. Get 3 or more HS/field and you have a permanent stealth
Permanent stealth is possible
It’s not easymode hit a button and your in stealth until you decide to break it.
It is like yski.7642 said you have to actively re-apply the stealth buff to maintain it. Stealth has a duration and you can maintain that duration through skill use/ traits.
*Note I only suggest stacking stealth to build up might stacks or to get away from a larger group of players (i.e. Zerg in WvW)
and refuses to spare the life in return for the surrender at discretion (unconditional surrender)
of a vanquished opponent.
