so i was thinking of a cool weapon style of using focus main hand weapon. i am not going to run threw trait tree design just weapon skills to see how you guys feel about it.

Before i start this weapon set will come with overdrive system for thief lock out his initiative bar for 10 second for each time they uses a skill that trigger it.

Focus + pistol

skill 1 : fire a physical projectile that absorb next 5 ranged attacks. Range 600 damage 150 causes blind on hit. Gain Bonus damage for every ranged attack absorb +20 damage Cost 0 initiative
Skill 1 chain 2 : consume the amount of projectile absorb unlocking locked initiative.

Skill 2 : (can only be activated well dodging) Shadow step a thief in any direction they hold arrow key 700 range Cost 1 initiative lock 2.

Skill 3: consume 1 locked initiative every half second applying 3% damage + 25 radius to final shot. Gain evade 1/4 of a second of every initiative used.
Skill 3 Chain 2 fire a powerful shot dealing massive damage. Damage 400 radius 50 Blast finisher. if 5 or more charges become active fire field. 4 seconds

Skill 3: consume 1 locked initiative every half second applying 3% damage + 25 radius to final shot. Gain evade 1/4 of a second of every initiative used.
Skill 3: Throw your focus having dagger spin around for each initiative spent. 150 damage each dagger can hit 2 target at a time each dagger. Whirl finisher.

Heal skill: Passively heal self for each lock initiative +50 hp. activate Slam the ground creating a dark field healing self for 4000 hp. Type Glyph. 20 second CD

utility.

1. Glyph passively remove 1 lock initiative every 3 second inertial. activate remove all lock initiative. 2 second cast time. 60 second CD

2. Glyph Deal AoE damage for each lock initiative 2% damage each point. 300 damage 1 second cast time. 20 second CD.

3 Glyph shadow step up to 5 allies (require 1 lock charge for each player) 1000 range. 45 second CD (does not work on down players)

Elite: Glyph passive cause blind on 5 second interval 150 range. activate create a black hole that consume up to 5 target in to it 360 radius constant knockback for 1/2 second toward center of black hole. in 3/4 second interval for next 4 seconds. 180 second CD.

what part is confusion i tend to be very bad at explaining but if you are interested in a part i can try to explain it more.

So when you use initiative, you are locked out of your entire initiative bar for 10 seconds? Or just the points you used?

This really confuses me, how can it absorb 5 ranged attacks when it’s speeding at your opponent? And can’t make heads or tails about the chain skill. What does it do?

Can only be activated while dodging? Why? You are basically introducing a cooldown to thief weapon skills. With the initiative lock, that’s 2 cooldowns.

What beats me is how do you build these locked initiative charges? Without DD, you only have 2 dodges to use for the #2 skill, which AFAICS is the only skill that locks initiative.

2% of what? Enemy Hp? Why would you ever use the active part if that’s the case?

So when you use initiative, you are locked out of your entire initiative bar for 10 seconds? Or just the points you used?

just the point you use will be lock out for 10 seconds. all with internal CD timer of the point you used. so they will not reset at same time.

Best way to explain this is to look at tablet on reverent it has adsorbing dome you can move it any direction you want but for thief auto attack it will only move in a straight line probably be best if it a ground targeted skill for easy casting.

many reason i design it this way but main points are is it would flow better with thief combat make it a lot harder to track him in a fight. reason it only cost 3 is to make it so it slightly spammable.

well to answer that there many way to for thief to regenerate dodge quite fast. such as signet of agility, vigor, adventure rune, sigil of engery. But this weapon design is more based around thief being in mid range then being directly on top of someone.

haha very funny i meant 2% damage modifier each lock charge capping out at 15 be 30% dmg mod.

also this may seem slightly weak at moment you are forgetting there no trait tree given to what get boosted on tree line.

yeah basically.

Btw, Blind can’t be in an auto attack, it would be way too strong. You could apply it to the #2, which feels a bit underwhelming to me.

i do not think it would be to strong but yeah putting on 2 probably would be a better fit.

And 5 is the max number of charges?

most skill default cap is 5 if it need to be raised it not hard to change i think anything more is a bit to op.

A big thing that I think would be great on a thief would be projectile blocking.
It would be great if they had an on-demand smoke field that blocked projectiles
