i am sooooo hyped to play deadeye ive played kill shot war for so long now and i cant w8 to see what carnage i can get up to with it. does anyone have any information on deadeyes traits and utility’s?

Looks like mostly little bits and pieces of the traits and utilities, the recent vid by wooden potatoes was kind of a ok first glimpse. I am sure more info will come out soon as more streamers get access to this content.

I also enjoy killshot and since I main Warrior its something I use pretty often on my main toon. The funny thing is my favorite target to one shot are Theif’s, it never gets old.

This is basically Killshot Warrior on lethal levels of steroids.

Something that is going to work well I can tell already will be for the Deadeye to shadow a freindly group and take good shots during the combat the friendlies create. I tend to do that will kill-shot already, deadeye will do it even better with its toolkit.

The increased range, stealth abilities, de-buffs all look insane.

There are serious trade-offs for movement, and sustain, but with good situational awareness and decision making, its going to be very power-full.

Of course there is also the hybrid aspect of the other trait lines to consider. I am not a Thief player yet so I will let others do the theory-crafting.

Personally I plan on taking the full out damage sniper approach, like my warrior is built for. The thief stealth and utilities will actually make that possible, I wont have to take the defense line just to survive like on my Warrior, that always hurt my damage. The Thief will not have that problem.

Spellbreaker does look like somewhat of a counter with its insane reveal, I plan on playing both and that should help my game-play on each at a faster rate. It does look like fun to hunt some deadeyes, it could be a really fun cat and mouse sort of thing.

It looks like a small scale group-oriented glass-canon ranged damage dealer. And due to that, it will be deleted by D/P Daredevils. So we’ll probably see the same amount of these solo-roaming as we currently see of vanilla Thief.

i plan on using D/P rifle and with these traits increasing the damage by at least 50% and with great access to invis with rifle ur daredevil dp thief will die very easy

just made a post about this, but the dead-eye trait line buffs the thiefs other weapon sets too. like its really buffs your back stab if you set it up right. and it gives you a bunch of free stealth allowing you to take weapons like sword. however you do lose some gap close ability and your dd doge.

Daredevil has extra dodge, more dodge from CV, Bandit’s Defense, UC or BD, PI.

I’ll play Deadeye and probably have a blast with it! But I honestly don’t think it will be able to 1v1 an equally skilled Daredevil any more than a power-based core thief can.

From what I heard on WP’s stream, Deadeye has to mark an opponent and then he’ll start doing more damage to his mark as he hits them. So basically, he has to mark the opponent for a while before he can start doing really big damage.

If you want to use rifle, that means you have to shoot your opponent a bunch (which grabs their attention), then you have to use 5 to set up and immobilize yourself, and fire away with 4.

You might be right that it’s a 1v2 spec, because I don’t see that working well 1v1.

They had to figure out something that didn’t result in the 2012 backstab build with 1200 range.

I just can not see this working as a 1v1 dueling spec. In WvW I see it more as a spec that will single out targets in a group that might be engaged with an ally and laying some hurt on. That added range will be useful for punching guys at the other end of chokepoints.

I am not sure yet as to what alternate weaponset will work best with this. Outside the port on 5 and the vertical movement that is allowed. SB would seem a bit redundant. SP might work nicely as it has a port in and out. D/P will likely be the go 2 set but I tend to feel THAT build will see mostly d/p play as Rifle seems to really want range. (p/p and SB can work ok closeup. I just do not see that with Rifle)

On the demo preview, Death’s Judgement (kneeling Rifle 4) has a Power coefficient of 1.6, but it also gains 15% bonus damage for each stack of Malice on the target. Malice already gives 3% bonus damage per stack.

Even at just 5 stacks of Malice, that’s a bit over 200% of the damage, before accounting for other damage amplifiers, or the equivalent of a 3.2 Power coefficient. For reference, Kill Shot level 3 adrenaline is a 3.25 coefficient. At the traited cap of 7 malice, that’s a multiplier of 248.05% damage for an effective coefficient of 3.9688 just from the skill itself.

That will take 10.5 seconds of attacking to build up to that point, though, so it’s not without setup. Regardless, I fully expect montages of absolutely absurd numbers off this skill.
