i havent played thief in a while but did this get buffed?
It gives you evade now so if your opponent stun breaks they still cant do shiz to yah.
I feel evil when i pistol whip someone now lol

No, it was actually indirectly nerfed when they fixed stun and daze durations, so now the stun doesn’t even last long enough for the first hit of the flurry to land, lol. It has always had the evade during the flurry. ;P

Pistol Whip is a pretty bad move to use in PvP these days, since most competent players can avoid it.

Still, it’s somewhat useful in PVE, especially in big fights were having that evasion can be really handy.

PvE its fine since if you have aggro the mobs won’t be running out anytime soon and will stand there and eat the whole flurry. In pvp though, your opponent would have to be brain dead to stand there for the entire flurry after the .5 sec stun is gone.

Necros like eating full duration Pistol Whips for some reason. But I guess I wouldn’t care much either if I had 50.000 effective hit-points.

Pistol Whip is great in PvE and probably one of the best damage moves in the game…if you can avoid getting hit during those brief moments of vulnerability.

It works well in sPvP too, but not as well as it used to with the 1 second stun.

yeh if you can chain it nice and then just stealth or kite if opponent pops stability you usually dont have to worry bout much.

I have always liked s/p so I still try to use it. I started slotting devourers venom and basilisk venom just to land pw’s and it works most of the time.

Pistol whip is pretty much unusable as an offensive skill in PvP at the moment. Using basilisk venom in combination with it will let you hit maybe half of the flurry, devourer venom should allow you to get the whole flurry if the immob isn’t cleansed in time, but using a 45 second cooldown to set up one attack is mediocre.

The only time it’s successful is if you need an interrupt and a cleave, like to prevent a rez and damage a downed body at the same time, or if you use it in anticipation of a melee burst, which is tricky as you’re vulnerable for the 1 second it takes to complete the stun and start the flurry. However if you time it well you’re opponent will waste their burst and eat 5-6k. You can achieve the same thing with better and more reliable results as s/d though.
