Q:
[pvp] How to fight necro?
u have to just gank them quick or p/d attrition condition them.
thieves are pretty weak right now. thats why we need more nerfs so its more apparent.
I play lyssa s/d, p/d might be goon in venom share soon when patched, but i thinnk lyssa will be betterthan silly venoms.
thief cant gank necro couse they will pop extra life skill
Necros are hard to fight, they are no doubt one of the stronger classes in short fights,
but usually they have the horrible sustain sided with horrible mobility.
To win, you have to kite them and wait til they blow most cooldowns, by playing evasive and performing some small bursts from time to time their life force pool will drop to nil, when life force is empty you just have that huge health pool to fight through, also necromancers lack stability Daze-lock builds can be effective if used right, also a good use blinds can be effective as always.
Dodge + Steal/Infiltrators Signet allows you to gap close in quickly destroying the runes they place at their feet.
Also I found that going all in on offense in D/D can kill them before they even have time to react.
And from what I saw and remembered they wont nerf necros much, they’ll reduce the amounts of bleeds they can apply through burst.
D/D blind and condi remove in stealth. Don’t backstab until they’re at about 50% health and low on DS. I know it’s probably not what you want to hear, but ducking in and out of stealth + autoattacking is a great way to wear them down till you decide to burst. Necros run out of dodges pretty quickly.
There are a couple of necro nerfs coming in on stuff like weakening shroud and staff #2 (the bleedy one).
My personal strategy revolves around Forcing them into DS, disengaging, and then re-engaging after they’ve come out of DS.
The problem with necro is that they can easily 100-0 a thief in about 3-4 seconds with just fearchain starting with an instant-cast fear from DS that is impossible to dodge. At the end of the day its just a really bad matchup to add to the loooonnng list of already bad matchups for the thief.

As a main necro, I can tell you right now that this is the way to do it. Despite supposedly being the “attrition” profession, necros excel in short fights and suck horribly in long ones.
My necro have 25k health and 1.5k condition damage…no Thief can break that down espcially I can heal myself and go into shroud for more OPness.
For a Thief to beat my necro, they need to get their damage and dodge nerfed to the ground. Playing dead is a great tactic in catching your opponent unaware.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
necros are hard opponents
the best weapon to take them down fast and easy is p/d as it gives you range attack and easy way out from their area marks and wells
you need to stay in stealth longer. lure him to use DS and stealth back with couple of cnd
immobilize him and put bit pressure and on 50% hp he will use heal skills than you have 20 seconds free time to kill him
if he caught you in singet use just run back or use stealth to clear conditions
their tactic it to use heavy condition burst and fear you for 6 seconds skills. so at the start just use cnd much often
It just takes time with decent ones.
C+d, backstab, dodge.
That’s it. Time it right, don’t rush. Very hard to beat a necro quickly.
Necromancers are indeed a tough encounter. You really have to play your kitten off if you want to beat a somewhat decent necromancer. Here’s what I usually do:
The only time I’m going to engage a necromancer 1v1 is when I catch him unaware. So first thing is to make sure I dent his health bar to get him with a backstab (preferably with a shadow-shot backstab to negate his enfeebling blood when he switches to DS). He’ll probably switch to DS at this point for a fear. Dodge it (also avoids the weakness). Interrupt the DS 4 and 5 skills with headshot. Once the necro is in staff, dodge like a mad man. Dodging + using a port helps safe-trigger the marks if he lays them around himself. If the necro goes scepter, use your blinds. Just watch out for their transfer as they can return the blind back to you. Save your Lyssa condi clear for the signet of spite, in case you get hit. Their heal has a huuuge cast time, so get good at interrupting it.
Always keep moving and be unpredictable with the movements. A lot of their skills require ground targeting.
Just watch out for their transfer as they can return the blind back to you.
Only Putrid Mark can do that. Deathly Swarm and Plague Signet (the other transfers) will simply miss if the necro is blinded.
Kite them into a group of allies.
