I’ve recently started playing sPvP on my thief and have been trying out a few builds. The one I have come to enjoy most is a d/p 0/20/30/20/0 build with a beserker trinket and runes of the eagle. I believe this to be (or at least was not so long ago) a good WvWvW build. But is it viable for sPvP?

Any advice would be appreciated :) I’m not very knowledgeable of all the ‘meta’ builds and such ^^

I hate seeing an advice request sink down the stack, so I’ll toss something in. And if I’m wrong, well, that’ll just get more responses. Nothing draws attention like being wrong on the Internet.

A build link would better help people guess what you’re aiming for. I’m thinking of a few different builds someone could shape out of 0/20/30/20/0, so I won’t comment on specifics.

As a general note, the sort of stealthy roamer builds common to WvW are best served in that environment. That’s not to say they don’t work at all in spvp, but the function isn’t entirely the same. There’s going to be overlap in both, given that smart thieves tend to avoid the zerg and stick to small skirmishes. Of concern in spvp more than wvw is dealing with bunker builds that camp points. Also, your ability to escape a losing fight isn’t quite as meaningful in spvp, when the respawn point is closer than bail bonds office to a courthouse.

k bro listen easiest build to play but the effectiveness is high, just land your Cloak and dagger and use your utilities at right moment don’t waste your utilities cuz the cooldowns are long

Ah okay thanks for the advice

Clockwork Bard, the master traits are III and VI in critical strikes, IV VI and XI in shadow arts and II and VII in acro.

I have read into the different types of build i.e. condition thief, burst etc. but having played a more burst oriented thief in pve/wvw I have edged towards that sort of build in sPvP. Would burst be viable for taking out bunkers and such?

k use this build iv created recently. i think the buff on condi thief and steal CD looks awesome for thieves, the 50% chance to bounce your pistol attacks and Skale Venom for torment condition

Thanks ^^ so would p/d (basically condition build) be good against a group of people or would it still be viable for taking out bunkers at the capture points?

bunker guardian possible but will take too long lol dont mind bunkers.. just go kill squishy one 1st. and engineers with http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Automated_Response Trait is kinda impossible to kill…

and if u want to rip off bunker guardians, eles.. and all types of bunkers! go double S/D but this build is the hardest build to use for me cuz u need to monitor your init/endurance ALWAYS and needs a fast hand and this build no stealth skill except Cloak & Dagg.

also good for dueling so S/D is perfect to all scenario duel, spvp, tpvp and WvW but for PvE not at all case.
