shadowstep needs QoL fixes
While I agree that random slight incline (hard to see) blocking shadow step is annoying, you can jump right before shadow step to ‘hop’ over an obvious obstacle that is about half the character height. This also is a valid QoL inquiry for other classes with teleport.
Secondly, your point of UI getting in the way sounds like your control problem. If UI is in the way, quickly turn the screen and use your muscles ;]
Also, check the options to zoom out further by increasing field of view to aid with UI blocking issues.
My problem with ports is no line of sight issue when my guy can see over a tiny little hill.
I’ve died plenty of times because of it.
Generally speaking all skills which teleport should be fixed, Blink and the Ele one is suffering from the same issue and its drives me nuts when u happen to fight someone with aoe while on a bridge, its auto death guarantee.
hell, today in silverwastes i had to spam SB5 around one of the vw lanes for like 5 seconds trying to find a spot that wasn’t off limits, and there’s NOTHING in the way or on the ground, at least visibly. probably glitching on some map design issue.
lol idk, if they don’t, they should hire people to give a shadowstep seal of approval for any new map/area. Anet, i’m available if need be. you can pay me in legendaries. thx
The LoS (bug?) also happens in fractals, for instance the fractal with the hammer and the seals. It looks like a perfectly smooth surface but you just can’t teleport on it. So… I can teleport upwards on a ledge in that fractal but I can’t teleport forwards on a smooth surface. Also, most of the time my initiative is still eaten away even when the teleport is denied.
Failed ports drive me crazy :/
