As true as Odin’s spear flies,
There is nowhere to hide.
the last auto chain, dubbed punishing strikes, seemed to me like it would do the class more if it was a standalone skill on staff. And since staff offers no stealth at all, maybe it should replace dust strike? (do people use this? am i doing it wrong?)
A kd instead of blind would be nice, but could be potentially OP.
Staff has a KD. it balanced in that staff has no easy access to stealth.
The staff set needs a daze which I think should be on #3 . This should daze right before one pulls back after the immob remove.
I still think number 4 should be a darkfield for whirls giving leeching.
Staff 4 should be the skill one uses the most. Not only does it blind it does decent dmg. So yeah don’t change that skill lol In my option they should change weakening change to where do u don’t go behind the player ur hitting. Honestly if they did that thief would be in such a good spot.
I still believe staff is in a very good shape. i have no issues with any of the skill’s, tbh #3 can be tricky yo use sometimes but i still wouldn’t have it any other way. weakering charge can land all 3 hits if you position your self correctly.

oh? I’ve never done it against a player sized target, so do explain. would be a great help

de target you foe. imagine the target has black powder on them self’s so get back, and aim 100 units to their side. its hard but it can hit all 3 hits. its mor about timing then positioning

I’m not likely to explain correctly how I land this one. I think of Weakening Charge as a large sharp disk shape. I try to spin sometimes at only the slightest angle and stop, only turning enough to partially circle or at least stay tight on the target, with the staff point being the part that shaves the target. It’s weird to only turn a little like an old thermostat knob trying to find the right temperature, so you’re turning only enough while being on your target.
Or think of your staff like a big needle and you turn or hook them like you’re trying to thread the needle, Weakening charge can be kept pretty tight.

Or you can do the easy thing and precast Weakening Charge> Steal.
You can burst down other thieves this way.
Without steal, WC only hits 3 times if you are right next to your enemy. I personally only use it in 1v1s (too much AOE dmg in teamfights), or to cleave downs (it deals amazing damage especially to the person ressing the downed).
It becomes significantly harder to use with Action Camera enabled (which I’m used to by now), as it goes in a straight line, rather then towards your target.
WC gets two hits if starting at around 200 units. Stealing mid-charge during the second strike will also make the third hit.
yeah, only 2 hits now. my bad. they must of changed it in an update. i use to be able to hit it 3 times.
If not changed, its as Eazypanda wrote. Precast Wc and use Steal. The Char is doing the Hits without the Charge right at the Enemy.
ok, cool
but…

circle? turn? I can’t turn mid charge

Told you I can’t explain it well and that part probably isn’t correct anyway, the partial turning part is more to keep me in the ball park, basically the same thing everyone else explained better, it’s easier for me to set up a starting and cut off point that way. Kind of like turning your body to drive one side into first base in baseball. Just do what these other guys explained, they’re pretty straight forward.
