thief builds
Bind your dodge key to something easily accessible – Not sure what mouse 5 is or how easy it is to hit
Are you using a pistol offhand to blind the mobs? Very essential to surviving
Thief is one of the best classes for PvE but it is unforgiving are you using the Signet of Agility for extra dodges if needed? Also PistolWhip is nice to evade things and do damage
Do you PuG a lot? It may just be bad team mates like Guardians not giving aegis or reflection
The key to mastering PvE is honestly practice and xperience you need to know the animations of all the mobs and the hard hitting attacks that will basically one shot you as a squishy Thief but we have all the tools to evade all incoming damage with Blinds and Evades
ahm mouse 5 is the side buttons on my mouse (got 2 normal at the front 1 mouse wheel and 2 side buttons)
i get that i pug alot and its honstly instnatly if its bad pug i get killed like alot then
wel i us s/p second set but idk whats better todo us D/D and S/P on both slots and swap to SB when neaded or better swap from d/d to s/p?
wel i know most animations but the problem is the huge amout of partical effects that blur the vision and then im dowende befor i know it =(
oh and im kinda idk what to take into fractals as my heal skil that signet isnt my thing i nead high heal for emergey thats about it
D/D for single targets and S/P for multiple targets – you rarely need the bow but it is useful if you really cant melee which happens with bad teammates or if you need to blast a field or something utility wise
The signet heal is actually pretty kitten good when you spam Pistol Whip into a big group of mobs – If not take Vigor on heal from acrobatics and run Withdraw – Heavy condition situations you can run Hide in Shadows
As far as particle effects blinding your vision – I get it and had issues with that for a long time – What REALLY got me into mastering Dungeons/FotM was to actually go in there solo and really learn the animations of the mobs – After a certain amount of time you do not even need to look at your screen you can simply time the mob and its attack patterns – The AI of the mobs in this game is VERY predictable
You should always have a way to avoid damage as a Thief
-Dodges fueled by high vigor uptime + feline grace + Signet of Agility for emergencies
-Pistol Whip
-Blind Field on Pistol #5
Don’t get discouraged man just keep practicing and try to jump into the dungeon/fractal that is giving you the most trouble solo and learn the animations of those mobs
That video will show you how powerful properly timed dodges are

not surprise, thieves has the least hp pool and least arm, low burst damage, what do you expect
Not kidding, using a build like 5/6/0/0/3 P/P is extremely good in fractals since you can maintain range/avoid damage while being squishy and mobs will not dodge against unload spam.
There really isn’t much out there which can maintain good damage and durability. Try 0/6/6/0/0/2 D/D. You’ll still hit hard.
Take the advice about going in solo and learning animations, where your stats lie, boss attack cycles, etc. Sometimes more people just makes things harder, though, with aggro constantly changing. CoE p1 Alpha still gives me a lot of trouble in parties despite the fact I can solo him without any problems.
