im using all valkyrie armor sets and berserker weaps and trinkets. with 5% precision convert to HP. and my total HP in WvW 13.8k i think arena net shud increase this “practiced tolerance” trait make it 10-15% precision convert to HP or just increase HP pool to 11k – 13k.?

if you only use chest valkirye , weapons and amulet you get more
i have 17500 hp on my thief, but i saw some builds with 21k hp

I use all Valk armor slots, and Valk weapons, all zerk trinkets and ruby orbs on the armor, I end up with like 17.2k hp (about what a full zerk warrior ends up with) however i still get 120% (122 with full ascended jewelry) crit damage (with food also) around 60% crit chance. Mind i use practiced tolerance and 20 pts in acrobatics also. Its still essentially a GC build because of the focus on damage, but i gave up a little precision for Vit to make it more survivable. ( i make up the loss with food, sup maint oil, and butternut curry)

unfortunately thats part of the choice, yes you’ve given up a bit of dps for 40% more health but if you want more still you have to give up yet more, everyone faces this choice to some degree, granted were the only low health tier profession that doesn’t get around its squishiness with actual damage reduction rather evasion and hoping the thing we are against doesn’t know how stealth works.

I don’t think we’ll get more health and at the same time I don’t think we really need more health, those that do can already build for it quite nicely, those that don’t don’t.

At the very least it prevents yet more QQ about thieves.

I have over 20k health on my Thief, and my damage is fine. Sure I won’t one shot anyone, but I don’t care about that. I love the ebb and flow of the fight, so a longer fight doesn’t bother me.

Don’t Guardians share the same HP pool the Thief does?

Yes guardians and eles both have same (bottom) tier of health as thieves, the difference with guardians is heavy armor, aegis, protection, blocking skills etc, eles perm protection, invulnerable abillity etc. we have stealth/evades

you’re a thief. you are not meant to stand in there with a massive Health pool slapping the player over the face and walk out alive.

the play style should be get in > slap the face a couple times > get out > wait for opportunity > get in > slap around again.

or you can go zerker and get in > 1 shot

or condition (i love this but slow) you have around 23k hp and conditions on pistols, lots of stealth and kiting

i lasted the fight against guardian, mesmer and another thief as condition.. took about 8 mins but i survived

I don’t mind having the bottom tier health pool.

What I do mind is how little we have to keep that health pool.

Elementalists and Guardians have the same health pool, but they have much easier access to Protection and Regeneration (Guardians also have 200 more armour, access to Aegis and passive health gain from a Virtue)

Yet thieves? Have limited access to boons (Can get Protection, if traited and steal it off someone else) have limited access to Vigor (Ele and Guardian both get “Gain Vigor for 5 seconds on critical hit” with Guardian getting it as a 5 point trait) but with Feline Grace to compensate (Giving extra dodges).

All this because of Stealth is supposed to confuse and distract enemies, yet it does nothing versus competent players and does little in PvE (Especially since the removal of aggro loss)

As far as health goes, a good build will be able to balance out damage stats and health. My current build is using Berserker weapons, Berserker armour, Berserker trinkets with 0 points into Acrobatics for vitality yet still has 14k health (Beryl Orbs on armour, Beryl Jewels in trinkets + Practised Tolerance)

It should remain low. We were never meant to be a tanky class. Rather one impossible to catch.
