Thief glass cannon = damage but low heath , no one want it

Despite your nonsensical rant there, I have not had any problems getting into any groups for any events. I have never been kicked from a group because of my profession or my build. Thieves could use some love in PvE, but are far from useless. Remember, 9 times out of 10, it’s the player and not the class.
Most thieves have no trouble getting into groups at all.
So… in the nicest way possible… sounds like the problem is you.
I do agree though with deleting thieves on principle alone.
Mithos i use thief in dungeon and in fractal actual lvl 9.
I know my class and how play, and with thief the game is better for me.
I tell that some people not thinking in this way and don’t want thief in party.
I not saying this , i have a thief and i use it , if in a group there isn’t a idiot that consider this class useless.
But Anet with all the change apply to this class helps to make it useless in the eyes of others.
The fact that people don’t want thieves in dungeon is a legend.
People don’t want bad players in dungeon, players who build completely glass cannon as a thief and have no clue on how avoid damage and keep dying over and over.
Most thieves are like that.
Thieves are extremely useful in dungeon thanks to stealth, there is no reason to not wanting a good thief in a party.
Its not only legends. From older server i know many cases when party leaders prefered better other classes than thief. Its not legend its sad reality. If thief has no guild he has very low chance to find party to dungeons or fractals.
And only reason why nobody want thieves on dungeons is constant nerfing of thief because some kids club still cry here every day on thousands of topics and only poison forum with bad mood and strifes. Is Anet really blind that dont see that they are ruining one good class? Are moderators so blind and dont see that crying kids only poison forum? You are only dancing how children cry.
Now thief is weak and weaker and weaker with every new patch. I want ask Anet something too. Do you want still nering thieves or directly delete it?

You make some good points, so many people are complaining about thieves, and it’s causing them to get nerfed regularly… And most of these people are just not skilled enough to handle a class. I know a lot of people played thief because they a challenging class, one that combined brief stealth and burst dps with a soft class.
And now the thief is, as you said, getting worse and worse with each path because players are upset that they can’t win. Most thieves will tell you that it takes a lot of work to use the class. Unlike a warrior class where you can run in with 26k hp and dish you 20k damage in no time… Yeah, really makes thieves look op when we can barely take 4 solid crits from most classes.
Now, contrary to OP’s rants, I have never once run into a problem with finding a group. When i run FoTM, I use a third party group finder to form cross server groups (I am from ET, it’s almost impossible to find groups) and I have never had an issue.
Reasons why thieves are good in groups:
-Several group stealths including the fan-favourite, Shadow Refuge, that heals for a decent amount (900-1,6k) and can be combine with a trait that gives regen on stealth. This is excellent for getting aggro off a softer class such as light armour, and amazing for rezing fallen group members.
- High dps, as everyone is already aware, thieves can dish out 25k+ in a matter of seconds if traited correctly.
- Full array of combo finishers including one of the most useful, blast. When thieves use a Shortbow in a dungeon, they can keep a constant stream of weakness of groups of enemies using the poison AoE (SB “4” skill) and following it up with the blast AoE (SB “2” skill). If they throw up smoke screen, it blocks attacks and projectile finishers blind the enemy (If you blast in the screen area, it will cause area stealth, which will cause regen if traited for it).
- High condition dmg
- Several blinds
- Dancing daggers with Signet of Malice is an excellent way to cause massive damage to large groups of enemies while sustaining HP.
There are many more reasons, but I got bored.
In PvE, a thief can be amazing. When I want to farm, I go to the lost shores and gather 4-5 young karkas at once and take them all down within a matter of seconds (15-30 seconds) just using Caltrops and shortbow 2 and 4.
I don’t dungeon or PvE to all that much and I run magic find gear (should change that), but when pugging it, found myself contributing quite a bit. Brb, Smoke screen eliminating projectiles and Black Powder eliminating melee. Reviving people in stealth free of aggro for them and myself. Bosses I felt less attractive but quite useful.
Only worry I had was how well I’d do in a more co-ordinated team were stealth is probably less useful, outside of that the stealth feels pretty good with /P and Shortbow in dungeons to me.
In almost all the dungeons I’ve played and the different groups I’m playing it with, I always see myself useful.
I run a P/D condition build and I can easily tank the boss, resurrect fallen allies (AoE stealth), keep a high sustained damage (both physical and DoT) and I’m always the last one standing. I bring tons of utility than can help in every dungeon and I run a venom share build.
I’ve played most dungeons countless times with almost all possible groups. I never have any problems finding a group and have never been kicked from one, so I really don’t see the problem. But if a thief i constantly dying and brings no utility to the team, then I can understand why he is getting kicked.
For general PvE and exploring I love the thief! 25% extra speed and Infiltrator’s Arrow for exploring is brilliant! I have fun in all parts of this game with my thief. But yes, we are getting nerfed all the time…. Lets just hope that they will fix the rendering issue that gives us permastealth in WvW and the fact that we can pre-cast CnD before stealing.
A thief played well can do fine in dungeons. Also, it’s not hard to find parties. Not many people are willing to kick someone out simply because of what class they are. They just want to finish the dungeon.
However, if I had to choose, I wouldn’t choose a thief for my party. Most of the players are just bad, and I end up reviving them more often than not. Their DPS isn’t even the best (glass cannon warriors have high DPS, thieves have higher burst), and they die easier than a lot of classes. Not much utility other than permanent weakness, blinds, and stealth revives.
Whenever I play my thief in dungeons, I do fine. I rarely die, and I’ve actually had people tell me that they’re not used to seeing thieves that can stay alive in PvE. I think this is where the real problem lies, rather than core issues.

Blaming the nerfs for the fact that people don’t want thieves in dungeon don’t make any sense at all.
ArenaNet doesn’t nerf skills according to what the forum says. They take feedback from the forum, of course, but the final decision is theirs. Also, I think that you are really arrogant calling everyone who says that thieves are OP kid, it’s like you are crying because your mother took away your ball, making you look like the kid.
Thieves have a place in dungeon, they are effective as support and burst out good DPS, which is very important in dungeons.
Probably people don’t want thieves in dungeon (according to what you say, because I’ve never felt that) because they had bad experience with bad thieves who build glass cannon and have no clue at all on how to avoid damage (almost 80%), passing more time on the ground downed than helping the team.
