what is d/p sPVP thief good at 1v1?
Based on my personal experience, and assuming you are still using Lyssa Runes with Shadowstep, Shadow Refuge and Infiltrato Signet, these are my ideas:
Beatable:
_Any kind of Power based warrior (some will take longer but as long as you dodge what must be dodged you can beat them)
_Any kind of power based mesmer.
_Bunker guardians (not a wise choice to 1v1 them though)
_Any thief
_zerk engis (assuming you hit them first and they don’t use Supply Crate)
_zerker rangers
_staff eles
Hardly beatable: (you can still beat them, but it requires everything to go perfectly and even one mistake can mess you up greatly):
_spirit/trap ranger
_Condi necro (only if you have Lyssa, else it’s impossible)
_Condi Warrior (easier with Lyssa)
_Scepter/x Ele
_power necro
“Impossible” (don’t even think about 1v1 them unless you know of that they are really bad):
_MM necro (unless you are able to kite the mobs away)
_Condi Engineer
_Medi Guard
_Condi Necro (if you don’t have Lyssa)
_DD Ele
_Condi PU mesmer
_Turret engi (they are becoming disgustingly popular nowadays)
Should have covered all the most common specs in pvp.
Of course, you should know that you should never 1v1 someone as a thief unless the situation really demands for it. You are better as quickly changing the outcome of a team fight rather than a dueler.
Also, keep in mind that DP is not a 1v1 spec. Unless your opponents are using stupid builds or are terrible, you will never have an easy time fighting them. The only class you have a natural advantage against are mesmers, but even then a well timed Shatter can 1shot you if you are not aware.

hihey pretty much nailed it. The only caveat I would make is that with a MM necro, if you kite them and focus the minions (counter intuitive, I know) you have an alright chance in a 1v1. Their main burst (if you want to call it that) is immobilizing you with dark pact and letting the minions siphon health. Always avoid the minions, but the necro itself is squishy (as far as necros go). If you keep pinging them with shortbow, then interrupt their heal with SoH/steal, then skull fear the minions and necro, you have a good chance of bursting them down in that 2-3 second period.
