Back on after long time curious about the thief I main and have multiple thief but I’m hearing nothing good these days. What’s been going on? Anything I need to know coming in now? Also is pistol dagger used in this meta?

Long story short, teefs are far from the top of the food chain.

pistol/dagger and all the rest condition dmg builds are kinda bad atm. Berserkers are immune to condis, Elementalists passively clear condis away and Reapers will return condis back to you so generally playing condition dmg build will leave you frustrated. I suggest you go for power staff, d/p etc

PvP
We are not exactly bad, but there is a lot of powercreep going on that makes us look bad in comparsion.
There is also a certain class that can do everything we do but better.
And some of us are unsatisfied with our current role. We cant really fight, we can only run around.

Pve
We are one of the strongest choices for dps, and we feature a good sustainability. Yet we are more like a ‘void-filler’ for hardcore or semi hardcore pve. The lack of team support is real.

Finally there are a lot of people unhappy with aspects of our class in general. Like weapon diversity, stealth viability etc.

Things could be better, but they were worst a few months ago so in the end we just ride the flow of the game.
