Simple really. I am venturing into wvw and building a thief for that reason. I am going to go d/d for a burst build, not conditions.

from what I read valk armor with zerks trinkets nad a 0/6/4/4/0 build is somewhere in the right ball park. Can I get a confirmation plse.

Take 0/6/6/2/0. That’s the standard. Awesome survivability, some might with SA 5. You could reset fights all day long. Honestly you don’t need more than 2 in Acro.

You really don’t need Valkyrie.

Thieves have excellent condition removal, and you don’t need any armour because you can stealth and heal around 550hp/s anyway.

0/6/5/3/0 has also been successful for people lately. If you pick up power of inertia, it stacks nicely with SA 5 as long as you have some sort of might duration runes (typically strength, but I have seen pirate and hoelbrak as well). Give it a whirl.

I included hoelbrak runes because they’re cheaper. Anyway, play around with it adding more or less vitality as you see fit.

P.S: Don’t get WvW badge armor right now. Since they changed how transmutation stones work, your expensive rues can get stuck in it until they fix it.

Sounds like you need a warrior by your side, or a guardian. They can hold your hands if you roll one.

When bursting, cast basilisk venom and all the signets. Use Cloak and Dagger and steal during the animation and immediately backstab. After that, finish them off and run – you don’t want to fight fair with this build. Valkyrie gear is ‘okay’ to start with, then you can slowly swap out to full zerker. It gives a rookie a little more survival to gauge fights, but doesn’t do the damage output you’d desire. Just use them as training wheels.
