100blades
Guardians have a lower hitpoint pool than warriors because hitpoints are mainly used as defense against condition and burst damage, two things which guardians don’t worry about because they have wide access to other means of defense (high armor, aegis, blocks, protection, cleanses, heals coming out of the kitten etc).
I don’t see what’s so OP about hundred blades, it’s a melee, channeled, self-root ability. If it didn’t deal so much damage it would be mediocre.
Axe is kinda good too. Warrior isn’t really over powered. Its pretty balanced actually. It has a higher hit point pool than guardians but it doesn’t have the damage mitigation or the healing that guardians have.
Bunker guardian > any warrior build
Bunker ele > any warrior build
Mesmers kill my warrior often in PVP and so do thiefs.
100 blades is great in PVE in PVP it is very situational, it roots you, can be kited, can be interrupted. Provided you are not kited, interrupted, and you manage to land it all yae it can be kinda nice. But that is a rare occurrence aginst other players who know how to deal with GS warriors. I have a lot better luck with Axe/Shield.

sorry knee jerk reaction with this.
100blades does root you and some bosses you can’t really melee without splattering your guts against the wall.
Excidium
I suppose the HUGE Dps is balanced when you take in to consideration what you’ve mentioned.
Warlord
I’ll have to revisit axe’s dps on this to see if its comparable.
I actually just switched my main from a Thief to a Warrior, at least in PVE.
Not really because of damage, my Thief probably has better sustained, but Warrior survivability is just flat out better. More HP, better damage reduction, even better healing mechanics. Stealth is a powerful mechanic in PVP, but it falls short in PVE when compared to just having a better HP pool and better defense.
With that said, I feel Warrior is the closest class to be being “balanced”. I don’t think it’s OP, I think some other classes just have glaring flaws that need to be addressed.
That’s not really Warriors being over-powered, but Thiefs being almost useless as melee characters in dungeons and stuff due to random AoE on mob attacks.
Do you even lift, bro?
Warriors are not OP, they are so easy to dodge. Press V and presto youve dodged 100b, congratz
while you are doing 100b, you die 1 little smack from range.
Still trying to figure out how you use hundred blades with a berserker set, while a champion is either AoE intensive or aggroed on you.
For PvE:
Why would I want to play any other class, when:
1. 100blades does 10k-23k every 6 seconds.
2. Has a higher hitpoint pool compared to guardian
3. 100blades hits 10k-23k every 6 seconds. A one button pushthis is with rare berserker armor slotted with valk gems, and green berserker trinkets. and an exotic greatsword. I don’t even come close to max dps gear too which will prolly push my damage to 15k-30k
I have 4 other 80s (Guardian, Elementalist, Thief, Mesmer) who are similarly geared in berserker and dps tested.
The only one that comes close is Elementalists #2 attack on staff with carrior gear, Veggie pizza for extended duration of bleeds. and thats what…20 seconds for it to tick out and takes 8 seconds to land?
Warrior is way too overpowered.
If I am wrong and other classes can compare easily, prove me otherwise please.
fail thread is fail.
To even get any where above 20k you need a lot of might. The highest i have hit on my glass cannon with soldier runes without bloodlust on 25 stacks of might is 21k and that was in pve. It roots you and it only does it in front of you and has a channel. Sometimes you may not finish because you are rooted in place for it to finish and there are 2-3 mobs bouta kill you.
They have more hp than guards because they arnt throwing out massive heals like guards do.
Next time factor in the downsides of 100b and the hp thing before making a ‘’wars so OP QQ thread’’

I don’t know what you are doing wrong friend because my PvE warrior (I’ve only been playing for 2 months) Sig spec’d)) Just today had a 100B crit for 27600 while I was in HoTW. If I’m solo my top end crits are for about 22-23k. I have no legendaries or any gear that isn’t easy to attain.
I run Precision, Power and Crit dmg in every gear slot, and in every Gem slot (Gems are not all top grade gems either)
2,300 Power (before proc buffs)
70% crit chance
aaand I’m at work so i can’t tell you the rest of my stats off the top of my head.
Now, like i said this is a PvE character because of the obvious downsides that have been mentioned via rooting etc etc but as far as dmg goes its easy to push it above 24k in a dungeon.
Guys the OP is talking about PvE
Try landing those blades while the boss is either moving or hitting you. On the first case you will hit 1-2 hits on the second youll be dead before your antimation is finnished.
If you want to farm orr, blades is your wet dream, for everything else there are better ways.
I think the OP is making a joke. If hes not, well, then you did not play thief correctly. My thief with pistol whip will hit for 5-11k, can use it 4 times in a row, also use haste and signet of assassination, mug for another 5k, and auto attack for 4-9k by the time my warrior will start his second 100b. Plus I can move if I want more freely, have a build in evade, and can escape much easier. Oh yea, and thats not counting doing more damage from the back.
yea… And warriors with full zerker do a lot of damage, they also die like insects. Run Arah, high level frac or CoE with that set up. My guild does CoE with 3 thieves using shortbows and s/p… survive better than any other class there and dps almighty. With that, DPS is also DPA… Damage per action. When my thief “escapes” its by switching to shortbow and using 3 attack which evades everything and keeps me attacking. Yea, warrior is good but doesnt outclass the thief at all

A terrible player with no situational awareness will die. They will die regardless of what build or class they are. I run full zerker in every instance, in every farm run, and I only die if the group dies; rarely am I the 1st one to go down. Sorry you’ve run with terrible warriors or only seem to get people who want to hold still and push buttons but your claim is false and just not the case if the player controlling the character has a brain.
As far as “escaping” goes if I end up pulling agg its a simple WW away, throw the GS to cripple or even switch to bow and immobilize. Hell if I’m feeling super spunky I can even endure pain and by then most of my CD’s are back up to get me further away. Nearly every encounter a boss has an animation precursor to a large damage ability, you can easily stand in 100B 2 or 3x before seeing that ability precursor evade out charge in and go at it all over again.
My solution to your problems, find less incompetent warriors. Not saying there mobility is better at all, I’m saying that there are ways to make sure you stay in the game maximizing dps output.
9 out of 10 berserker warriors are crappy and die a lot. You do a lot of damage, and if you know what you’re doing, you won’t have to die. My warrior is not GS, and sure GS can be fun, but what i like about my warrior is that i can compensate my groups failing if needed.
Sure, you don’t die first, but if your group wipes, how much can you do? I’ve been in situations before where my PUG was just fail and wiped completely, but i kept it going by staying alive instead of dying as last. Situations where GS wouldn’t have helped.
Every build comes with ups and downs.

i have guardian, warrior, thief.
Thief is my newest and fully geared aswell.
Its all about playstyle.
You want to fight like you gonna die the next second? Thats thief.
You wanna fight while browsing the forums? Thats Guardian.
Warrior sits somewhere in between. Good damage, good durability. By no means top damage. By no means a great tank (2 blocks + shield + 2 dodges without vigor boost). He is fair on everything, thats all.
My warrior although is the most played – rolled at 24 August, he is now the least played. If i want to roll a dungeon or WvW that will hawl kitten and keep my team mates alive, i roll with my Guardian.
If i want some crazy numbers, whether in a dungeon or WvW, i roll with Thief.

Point still stands. In order to use hundred blades, you need to stand still and the enemy needs to stand still. If they are on you, you die or get interrupted. If they are on someone else, they are probably going to kite it and its not going to stand still.
Its not really a rare situation either. Risen brutes knock down, flying enemies disappear and re-appear, skelks vanish etc.
For solo, yes 100B wins
For 2+ players as a team, unless the foes really love you and decided to hug you only, without proper group immobilize, 100 blade only hit with the first 2~3 swings. I usually runs a 2 men team in Orr with my Engineer buddy. Although i got higher damage, melee ranged, and i gain the first hit, some foes are designed to ignore me and go to my buddy no matter what. If i don’t trait myself with leg specialist, my 100B hit for the first swings only. So tell me how wonderful this self roof skill is?
To tell the truth, i rather use sword and shield when i am solo than GS.
Warrior is BAD at the moment, easy to dodge and a trash durable dps.
Yes, 100 Blades has great DPS, but it also requires you and your target to stand still for about 3 seconds. The cooldown doesn’t trigger until that time is over, so you can actually only use it about every 9 seconds, not 6.
As for warriors vs other classes with DPS, what other classes may lose in DPS, they gain in survivability, conditions, and crowd control.

^ No it doesn’t – a half decent warrior always knows down their target with ‘Stomp’ before using 100B. Me on the other hand – i hit them with 5s of immobilize from longbow – if they use there cond removal for that i then cripple/immobilize with GS skill 4, use skill 5 to get in close – then utility to knock down and 100B them – Still not found a WvWvW player who survives that unless it is a healing shout/tank/condition removal warrior.
Unstopable force meets immovable object.
If i do however meet a tanky foe… /point and then /laugh until 100B cools down
