As the question states :
How many of you can actually fight, kite, survive, and stomp more then 1 decent player at a time in WvWvW?
I feel like I already know the answer to this question but wondering what you guys can do.
Personally I win a majority of my 1v1 fights in wvw against decent players. I’ve even managed to win a few 1v2 fights against non upscalled players.
I don’t consider any player who loses 2v1 to be decent.
That being said I’ve beaten players 2v1 where one was so bad he died within the first couple seconds of the fight and the other player was decent, but I really wouldn’t call that a 2v1… more like a 1v1 with an appetizer.
it kind of depends on the situation and the combination of classes. If you can catch one off guard and hit that person real hard, you essentially turn the situation almost into a 1v1 because that person will most likely be retreating and reeling back without doing a lot of damage.
If you get jumped by two people, or if you don’t get the preemptive strike on 1 of them it can be pretty difficult to win a 1v2. By winning I mean stomping them both out without having to retreat. There have been many situations where I stomped 1 of them but was unable to stomp the other so I had to retreat, get my health up, then try to fight the other guy.
Fighting classes that can avoid CC pretty easily like Thieves and Mesmers are pretty hard to fight in a 1v2 situation unless you get the jump on them. And in turn, classes that can dish CC back at you can shut you down from even killing one of them.
As a warrior, we shouldn’t really be winning 1v2s, especially against decent, competent players who know what they are doing. If we are, it is either we got the jump on one of them and then played the rest of the fight very correctly or they are just bad players in general. Using the terrain/environmental tactics in WvW can also up your chances.
I can understand classes like D/D eles with godlike sustain, Thieves with the ability to engage/disengage and use reliable quick bursts and Mesmers, well, they are just mesmers winning 1v2s. Warriors, not so much.
I once fought two rangers and it was really rough, one was a trap ranger and one was just a normal shortbow ranger. They just kept kiting me like crazy, and essentially it was a 1v4 because they had their pets attacking me, lol.

If your zerker using the wvw balanced build – check the gw2 guru pvp warrior forums- you can drop one early on especially if you have frenzy up with endure pain and hopefully a reactive stability. Then immediately dodge away to avoid the other player and keep throwing GS 4, Axe 3 and use GS 3 to swing through the downed person. If the other guy starts reviving then shield 4, Evis or 100b on them both. Always keep the downed player between you and the other guy or fight on top of him. That is assuming the rezzer isn’t tanky and the guy being rezzed isn’t a guardian healing himself or a ranger having a pet to rez him or the guy up doesn’t use a broken mechanic to rez such as mistform, elixir or stealth rez or knocks you back. It’s tricky and against good players it won’t happen, I think.
I can’t speak for other builds or for tankier gear.
If you want to 2v1 then try a thief. Lots of mechanics to get away, hit, get away till one drops then stealth stomping on demand. Even with full zerker and 91% crit chance and full crit damage line I see thieves hitting much harder than me in the opening. Also, I depend on frenzy up along with bulls charge etc. Thieves just have no cooldowns given their silly initiative mechanic.
Earlier I ran into a thief and tried setting him up then got frenzy>>100b>>GS 3>>shield 4>>evis and he didn’t drop because he finally used his stun breaker. Another thief attacked him later and dropped him in less than 2 seconds. So yea..your best bet at 2v1 against semi decent players is a thief since their mechanics are broken and bordering on hacks. Shadowstep=teleport hack, basically.
yeah thieves in WvW are quite annoying, they not only get to spam stealth skills, they spam blinds as well. It’s annoying because I don’t even see any timing on their usage of these avoidance abilities, they just spam them in between their attacks.
