Heres the principe this build rely on two mechanics, Leap and fire field. In theory the whole point of the build is to gain might trought fire shield and blocking then deliver lethal blow (funnily enought despite sword behing classified as a dot weapon it can actualy can deal serious damage when foe is under 50% especialy with final trust) Basicaly you spamming fire fields with bow switching weapon constantly to cure condition and gain might etc

Yea i know the fire field of bow is prety much warrior life saver right now

Hey kyubi, the sword build i posted is very similar. I’d suggest you using on swap sigils though, since they are twice as effective on warrior than any other class.

Any tips on fight engis on point with your sword build. On my axe build I would just range them until the go low enough then pop stab and zerker stance, rush in and evic them to death. It worked every time. With the sword build I don’t quite get enough range damage to bring them down low enough and end up having to melee in a pile of AoE for much longer. it is proving to be quite difficult.

It really depends on the build they are running, but in general their biggest advantage over you would be kiting power. Since they only have condi remove on their heal, you can quite easily overload them with conditions if you hit with most of your skills. Also use Berserker stance offencively.

Penguin, what would you say is currently the strongest of those builds? Been running Hambow for while, thinking of switching.

For teamfights hambow is still the strongest, for roaming/dueling I find S/S to be the stronger.

Why are you beeing so sore about warriors using longbow? It’s just a very effective weapon at what it does.

The problem is we are pigeonholed into using it. Any build needs it to be viable in PvP unless you have a very organized group with a specific comp.

And this is not the case for other classes?

I want to stay on topic, but this isnt good for any class. Some classes have advantages for certain builds but do not need to run specific items to live. To do optimal damage sure.
It’s more glaring on warriors that need to cc and are not bunkers.

But it’s pointless arguing that warrior’s need longbow. The only reason we use it is because of how conquest works, theres a reason why nobody runs longbow in wvw roaming.

It’s also for a reliable condi cleanse. Try running a build without it, you’ll just get eaten alive by condis even with runes like Hoelbrak/Mel, Zerker Stance, and Brawler’s Recovery. People scoff when Warrior’s weakness to conditions is brought up, but without food or a LB it’s the truth.

Actually you need longbow in WvW at the same way you need it in spvp. As Burtheking mentioned, you won’t be really viable without longbow on the contrary, longbow is the strongest weapon the warrior can use.
If you win fights in WvW with GS /hammer or GS/Axe builds actually means your oppenent suck or probably his build does.

Yeah longbow gives the most reliable cleansing ire proc, it gives might stacking and zoning. I can’t really argue it’s not strong, but outside of conquest I wouldn’t call it required.

The one exception would be Sword + Horn/Hammer with Condi Clearing + Healing Shouts. However the goal of that build is less to kill and more to support and control.
