About the Hammer Warrior
don’t agree. the hammer hits really hard, with only 10 points in power and the rest coming from gear(power main stat, vit/tough secondary). the base damage on the hammer skills is among the highest for our class.
here are the damage multipliers for all warrior weapons btw:
also, speeding it up is a bad idea because of the amount of hard CC you have, plus the ability to immobilize unlimited targets with hammer shock if you have the leg specialist trait. buffing the damage is not necessary, making it attack faster is unfair.

Base damage is just base damage, it’s skill you have to look. A average hit might be harder with hammer, but with much lower swing rate and no actual heavy hitter skill to be seen, the overall damage has to be lower.
edit: not much the attack, but rather the very long animation, it’s just give too much of an hint to dodge..and plenty of time

it’s far closer to the strongest weapon in damage than the next closest weapon is in utility. it’s not necessary to hit any harder with a weapon that can cleave weakness, stun everything, cripple(immobilize with trait) everything, knock back everything and KD. and you can strip off defiant on dungeon bosses with the hammer and be ready to interrupt that big hit…it’s priceless.
i’ve recently started using it after using axe/shield, GS and i still have sword/shield as my swap, it’s nowhere near as much lower damage output as you are making it seem and your “has to be” shows me you don’t even know it first hand.
you want faster attacks and higher dps, give up the usefulness and grab a GS.
EDIT: as for telegraphing, you do know that you can cancel skills right? as in hit 5, force a dodge(or cooldown usages such as aegis/stability) then nail them afterward.

The “has to be” was cause I didn’t do the proper theory crafting and I don’t generally claim to know without some good testing and just linking weapon multipliers. That’d silly.
I’m sorry but if you really think the hammer swings slow, play a freakin guardian with a hammer. The warrior hammer feel SOOO much faster…don’t complain
Besides be realistic, you don’t swing a hammer as fast as you swing a sword…its going to be slower
Is it really slower though? It feels really slow but the cast time on the icon says 1/2 for each of the 1 ability attacks. Did you mean the 2, 4 and 5 abilities? They are pretty slow. I try to chain them off earthshaker (doesnt seem to be as obvious/have as much warning) Then 5, 2, 4, 3 then switch to rifle if you wish or go all hulk smash with a fair speed autoattack with high multiplier damage.
If im misinterpreting the meaning of the time shown on the upper right hand of the icon?
I can see what you mean, but the Hammers main strength is still its ability to completely lock down another person for a “x” amount of seconds cause of its ability to both slow, stun and KD.
Combo it with a “X” + shield, and you have yourself a very viable weapon setup, that not only can dish out amazing DPS, but also totally turn the tides in any fight you encounter. I do not agree with a Hammer’s dps being mid-low, not at all. Merciless Hammer trait will increase your weapon’s damage a great deal under the right conditions, it’s just a matter of you, utilizing this to its fullest.
If you do think it really is that slow though, you might want to look into GS or DW since they both offer fast attacks aswell as DPS. However, for the most utility in fights, Hammer is just too beast!
