Hi, guys For some reason I cannot see the replies. I thought it might be something with my internet but for some reason does not show me anything? Anyone knows how I can see what people are saying?

UPDATE: now I see the replies. It looks like the page was full. Could that be a forum bug? should I report it?

That’s dumb.

This is the thought that comes to my head multiple times upon reading through this topic.

There is just so much misinformation about warriors being spammed (on a 7 second cooldown) in not only this topic, but on the entire forum, where does one start to correct?

Posts like this:

right , the point is any other class dont have two skills that can do up wards of 8-15k each depending on the weapons chosen(apart from LB)

being able to use the f1 on a perm roataion of 7secs without a risk is a poor Standard to other classes.

if other classes miss their class machanic they have to wait much longer to do it again and at a cost of ether no shatter damage and will need to rebuild clones , missing steal no Boon/conditions on theif steal(effect the fight gets much harder)
Rangers Pets fail to connect f2 can lead to problems later on as its a mobile 30-45sec cooldown.

it needs risk and that is all being able to rotate the f1 without Punishment is not to the standards of Class balance.

This has so many things in it that are simply not true or completely out of context that they lose all value.

For instance, what two burst skills from warrior do 8-15k damage? Well, let’s asume everything goes well, the warrior is full glass and so is the target, then the warrior has exactly two burst skills that can do this much damage; Eviscerate and Killshot.

Now use the two in a build. You fail.

Then there is the ridiculous compairing to other classes. Sure, we have those two hard hitting and easy to avoid skills. I’d rather have them from stealth. But wait, that would be OP, right?

Actually, no, Thieves prove that.

You can not simply compare class mechanics in a vacuum without considering everything else classes have going for them. Stealth, teleportation, up to 3 clones to defend you and hide amongst are some of the extremely sweet pieces of candy mesmers have, for instance. Even as I am typing this, I am realising that warrior has a lot of things going for it as well. So simply don’t compare the classes like this omg.

And I find it quite funny that people keep saying warrior can spam his Burst skills on cooldown (most people call it F1, which is kind of typical as the original button layout in GW2 is terribad). But seriously, the warrior that spams his skills is a bad warrior.

And if we are dead set on rounding off that 7 3/4 second number, then let’s all call it 8 seconds from now on.

I only state my opinion unless stated otherwise.

Right now, there’s no drawback to spamming your burst skill on cooldown: you either hit or you keep your adrenaline and get to try again as soon as the cooldown is up. That’s what this major Adrenaline change is adding; a drawback. One that makes it so burst skills can actually be balanced properly.

Well losing the fight is a pretty big drawback, which is basically what happens when you miss burst skills—this is what players are getting at.

Unfortunately some builds that we all know about can survive whiffing burst skills so the whole warrior profession is getting nerfed because of it

I fail to see how one missed skill can cost you the fight when it’s on a max of a 10 second cooldown on the profession with the best overall durability in the game. Unless you are using it as a last-ditch effort because you’re being beaten badly already and need to get some momentum back. In that case, though, losing your adrenaline is meaningless because you won’t survive until the cooldown is available again anyway.

Are you kidding me? Who builds adrenaline and does not use it? Not even a single warrior does that!

DPS-oriented warrior builds in PvE generally won’t use the burst skills.

Well, that is not an excuse to not fix the traits in PvP. Keep in mind that if a warrior does not use his burst skills he will die to condition damage. In other words, he will not be cleaning the constant conditions that are like a plague in PvP. If the warrior is constantly using his burst skills that means that the warrior cannot take advantage of those traits. Sure, those traits are really good in PvE, but what about PvP? there are people who play PvP too you know.

lol, I expressed no opinion on the topic, you’re so eager to refute and argue

There are a lot of tings in this game without a drawback, that are a hell of a lot easier to execute then warrior burst skills.

The drawback is the cooldown, as it is with many skills. The fact that warrior burst skills are stronger then other skills is logical, as you have to get adrenaline to even be able to use them.

The funny thing is, I don’t nessecarily oppose the adrenaline changes. I just think that it is hard enough to even land burst skills as is because of all the stupid ways people have to randomly avoid them. Also, some burst skills suffer from this change way more then others (Killshot, Skullcrack for instance).

And we are not the ‘overall most durable’ class in this game.

Killshot builds were always gimmick builds anyway. Only way to reliably get one off is to have them blow their stunbreakers, then pop “Fear Me”. Or be fighting an enemy zerg in WvW.

Rifle could use more of a rework.

And yes, highest EHP base plus great active defenses plus great health regeneration do make Warriors the “overall most durable class.” Only thing that could make them more durable is damage immunities. Oh wait…

Now, there’s nothing wrong with being the most durable. Heck, someone has to be if there’s any diversity. I just don’t get how Warriors can say that missing their burst is such a huge deal right now when I see them try to use it 3-5 times in a fight (more if they weapon swap) without any apparent regard for putting effort into landing it.

Guardian is “the” bunker class in PvP because while it makes itself hard to kill, it’s still spitting out boons and heals left and right for teammates. Very few other bunker specs can bring that level of support in addition to being hard to kill. I think Engies and Spirit/Regen rangers (maybe some staff ele specs) are the only other contenders, and a Guardian is still a fair ways ahead of them.

It is incredible how wrong you are in pretty much every post you make. Guardian is the best bunker in PvP because it is the hardest to kill class on point in GW2.

Great active defenses?

Seriously?

Do you even PvP?

You need to fight better warriors, or fight better players when playing warrior yourself. After this patch, literally every class other then warrior has better active defenses then warrior, except for necro’s. Although we still don’t know what will happen to them.

That’s the whole point of warriors being passively strong, we don’t have good active defense. And active defense is always better then passive.

no active defenses?

3 of the 4 stances, stamina signet, shake it off, fear me, (all shouts if using trooper runes), the mobility of greatsword, the mobility of 1h sword, the cc’s on hammer, smolder arrow, pin down, rifle butt, the weakness on mace, the knockdown on offhand mace, both shield abilities and both warhorn abilities.

i didnt even get into trait interaction, or how much breathing room a target will give you once he’s below 50% knowing that even with his 2.9k armor you can hit him with an 8k+ evis no problem.

Necros won’t be getting avoidance defenses, you can probably bet all your gold on that.

Yes, great active defenses. They may not be on the popular weapons to use, but they are there. Shield Stance, Counterblow, Riposte are all good blocks (Counterblow being the weakest, but is on a short cooldown), Whirlwind attack is an evade+movement on a short cooldown, Smoldering Arrow, while the only blind, is an AoE blind on a short cooldown and quick cast time. And on top of that, great Vigor uptime.

The popular builds may not choose most of these things, but the options are very much there.

And most professions can make themselves nigh impossible to kill on point. Even thieves with tons of evade spam. The thing is, while they’re doing that, the only thing they’re doing is being hard to kill. If a bunker is holding a point against two people, he can’t do it indefinitely alone. He needs an ally to help push opponents off every so often. Guardians are the bunker class because even while being very tough to kill, they can still support that ally very well so his two opponents don’t have an effective 2v1.

Where did you hear me say we have no active defense? L2read.

You do adequatly sum up utilities that can be used defensively…

Now give me the Great active defense a warrior has. And, please, before spouting all utilities again, compare them to what other classes have and still call them great.

The popular builds may not choose most of these things, but the options are very much there.

I rest my case.

You’ve got a cruddy case.

The active defenses are fantastic. The problems are other aspects of the weapons. For Counterblow, it’s the slow adrenaline buildup and lack of real damage output of the Mace. Riposte is used all the time and is very popular in addition to being a great active defense. Shield Stance is also extremely popular. It’s no accident that Celestial Axebow uses a Shield. Smoldering Arrow is on what is currently the most popular weapon Warriors have and, although it’s popular for what are probably the wrong reasons, the Longbow is a very good weapon in its own right. Whirlwind Attack is on a weapon that is currently unsuitable for PvP because all of its damage is focused around the self-root skill and the weapon itself has very little CC to help you land it. Come the Arcing Slice change, Greatsword will become more popular in PvP (though admittedly, right now that doesn’t take much).

So, that leaves Counterblow, Whirlwind Attack, and Vigor that are not that popular. Yeah, you can’t have all of them in one build. That’s kind of a good thing.
