Adrenaline... The Point?
Depends on your wep. Personally:
Mace = extra stun. Really good in PvP and good in PvE.
Longbow = Combo ring of fire. Sets any mob on first and any projectile shot through it adds burning effect.
Those are both strong. Toss in a very nice condition build ranger/theif etc and that burning tick can do some nasty dmg.
Not sure if serious. The rifle skill hits pretty hard,Underwater stuns,Mace stuns,Longbow does burning damage,Axe does extra damage.
The healing ability heals more if you have more adrenaline. All those abilities listed on top have EFFECTS with EXTRA damage.
10k Snipe would say otherwise.
However you already answered your question, you store it up for that extra damage.
/thread.
Axe/Rifle: Massive spike damage
Mace/Hammer: Crowd control
Sword: Cone immobilize (hint: you can combine it with 100 blades)
Greatsword: With the right build you never need to press F1.
If you don’t need those tools at the time, don’t use the burst and enjoy the damage/regen/etc bonus depending on your spec.
Using your F1 can give you back Endurance.
Getting Adren is fairly easy and quick with the right setup.
+9% Crit chance
+12% Damage
Adren is awesome.
i’d compare this to a guardian’s virtues. in my almost 200 hours of guardian play, i’ve pressed F2 and F3 a total of two times in what i’d call an “effective” manner. but they provide passive effects that are utterly critical to my playstyle (an inherent sacrifice of tough/vital for passive regen and aegis). F1 only becomes useful with traiting.
maybe you could think of it as an extra signet.
I don’t know if you’ve ever even equipped a hammer, but F1 is the button you will want to press every time you can use it.
Personal experience, I have been using Axe and shield, pressing F1 when the adrenaline gauge is full, will give a finishing move(most likely).
It sounds like the OP is talking about eviscerate damage with full adrenaline. The OP is saying that eviscerate should deal more damage ..considering the trade off of losing the bonus damage from berserker’s power, the extra healing from adrenal health, and the bonus critical chance from heightened focus. It sounds like the OP is running a similar build to mine, in which I have all three of those traits.
I still have pretty garbage gear as I’ve only recently reached 80 and have yet to participate in pvp, but I’ve noticed that eviscerate only hits marginally harder than a few swings of my axe #1 attack. I’ve been reading that it hits up to about 5k when properly geared…not sure if that’s really the max or not, but that seems pretty weak for the trade off.
Sure, the other weapons do have bonus effects that make F1 worthwhile in pvp apparently. This is what makes me assume that the OP is talking about eviscerate. Considering the other F1 attacks seem to incorporate some sort of bonus effect (stuns, immobilize, fire combos) and all eviscerate really gives is extra damage (non traited)…I can see where the OP is coming from.
And here, ladies and gentlemen, is the sad example of Warrior’s reality. Greatsword, never swapped it for 80 levels straight, never change the build. Says something, doesn’t it?
Yeah the weakest adrenal ability is probably the great sword one, because it gives fury something which many warriors already get from Signet of Rage or For Great Justice!
Eviscerate on the other hand i really like, i play mostly pvp and it combos really nicely with the huge burst from a frenzied greatsword to really smack someone down. The rifle snipe can be used to a similar effect. The hammer one is awesome as well definitely a worthy addition to the lineup.
The other ones however are a bit sub par and some changes would be appreciated.
Two words: Eviscerate, Killshot.
Either you build for Adrenaline gain/Building Momentum/Critical Burst and use the F1 as another attack or you build for Berserker’s Power/Adrenaline Health/Heightened Focus and basically never use your adrenaline attack; both work and both feel like completely different playstyles (obviously, the latter feels easier but creates a lot of build constraints).
All F1 bursts are not the same.
