Am I the only one?
Yup, it’s just you. Our personal dps is middle of the pack but, yes, Phalanx Strength is the reason every dungeon party will pack one warrior. Support wise, you should check out what a support ele can do….
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy warrior quite a lot and it’s by far my main. But you’ve gotta keep it real, ya know?

is this guy trolling or what?
lol warrior is a machine of cond remov and boon stripping? You sure are trolling. Just remove PS of Warrior and see how many comps will favor warrior in PvE. And in PvP try to 1v1 a good D/D Element and see how powerfull and how much sustain you have.

Actually the june specializations patch put warrior near the top end of the spectrum for damage, just not with phalanx builds. If you actually set yourself up for personal damage, warrior is in some ways stronger than it was pre-ferocity (before april 2014), however in some ways it’s not quite there, depends on the situation.
Basically the point I’m trying to get across is that warriors had sub-average DPS before this year late june, but now it’s actually superb. You just have to spec selfishly for it.
And now with the elite spec:
The first link assumes that you’re already getting fed banners, might, and quickness from another warrior and a guardian/mesmer, so heightened focus can be traded for burst mastery.
The second link I haven’t really gotten a chance to test properly but it appears to be what might be the best setup for personal damage in solo settings, but it seems similar to how it was last year for anybody that might remember the 66002 GS camping vs 65003 GS+axe/mace uncertainty when it came to theoretical highest DPS vs practicality

I’m set up for personal damage, and I’m not gonna lie, I wreck house on a regular basis post patch (I enjoy warrior more than ever, atm). I’m more reporting on what people say with respect to pvp and pve.
I spend exactly zero time calculating relative dps, so perhaps I should have put that disclaimer in my original post. Still, are you saying conventional wisdom about warrior dps is wrong? Where would you put it relative to other classes?

The only class that I’m pretty confident warrior can’t touch for burst and personal DPS is engineer generally speaking, but many cases elementalist has much better, especially on anything with a large enough hitbox for meteor shower/lightning storm.
The thing is, if the hitbox of the boss is small then the elementalist’s damage potential is greatly reduced while the warrior’s isn’t at all. Also depending on how short a fight is, warrior could potentially be better burst than an ele because you have to factor in the fact that warrior can open a fight with an instant vuln spike with high damage coefficients as well. It honestly depends a lot on the encounter and who’s playing the classes.
Thief is still capable of beating warrior in some circumstances, but since the update warrior is capable of matching thief and sometimes doing better a lot of the time. Basically, warriors got buffed a lot more since that patch than thieves did.
The classes like guardian/mesmer/ranger/necro are obviously not better in terms of damage aside from really obscure examples like reflecting Lupicus’s frenzied blast attacks or whatever.

I can’t see the “insane” sustain part, except for the triple-stance meta. Without stances, Warrior sustain is crap. It takes either a totally selfish stance build or an offense-neutered healing power/shouts build to have any sustain in PvP and WvW.
