Im sorry if there is another thread like this one, dont have time to search for it,

I just think that Savage Leap could be “free” when not targeting with enemies around, sometimes you want to “escape” or just jump ahead, and the nearest enemy get it in a “auto-target”

That’s boring :/

Have you tried disabling auto-target in the options menu? It works fine as an escape once you disable it.

I disabled auto-target and if you are like really quick, you sometimes still jump backwards to a previous selected enemy. Even if you quickly select an enemy infront of you and press leap you sometimes go to the previous one.

So yea it needs a bug fix, think I reported it 10+ times already.

Had sent myself flying like a fool inside a wall in more than one occassion. Though, at least Savage Leap doesn’t ground us in place for too long like Rush does.

Yes I’ve seen that too and would assume it’s a client/server lag issue that may be difficult for them to resolve. Best strategy is to just wait a fraction of a second after deselecting target before hitting #2.

It happens to me several times during skipping. Make me look like an idiot. So yeah, wait a bit before hitting #2.

Yeah, also make sure you specifically detarget your enemy before trying to escape… not sure there’s a “detarget” button other than Esc, although that will cancel your action, so you shouldn’t do that. I usually just click to an empty space on the screen.

I’ve accidentally not cleared my target before… then there’s that awkward moment where you use your leap skill in the wrong direction towards the zerg…

What’s really annoying to me is that if I select a target and attack, it just happens… but if I select another target, I have to sit there waiting for the game to realize and stop firing attacks at the old one. This is especially bad since using my right-click to move the camera often selects things I didn’t want to when the screen gets crowded, and somehow they didn’t think that maybe this would be terribly annoying and should, at the very least, have a toggle for people who don’t even use right click for targeting, ever.

I really hate that awkward moment right as you press the button and see that you have a enemy targeted. That is when it is good to have a great sword equipped so you can run in the right direction.

Just turn the awkward into awesome and suicide-attack them instead. If you’re hilariously lucky you may even down one and cause it to die of shame.

Just to make that clear, there seems to be a bit of “lag” with the targeting system. A small delay before the system realized you’ve acquired a new target or detached from an old one. Completely separate from network or graphical latency, however. Seems like a system-specific flaw, if you will.

It has always been there, though, at least since I’ve started playing the game.

I click an empty area of the screen to detarget and am absolutely positive that if you savage leap right after you clear your target sometimes you will still leap towards your previous target – as the last poster said I’m sure it’s a client/server lag issue.

Just turn off Auto, though I do notice that the skill misses when it looks like I landed right on top of the guy. Not sure if it is lag animation or a bug.

Funny story, I was manning an arrow cart on the top ledge near the NW tower in WvW. I was not paying attending and hit the # 2 skill, not realizing the arrow cart had been destroyed. Yep you guessed it, Savaged Leaped right off the cliff to my death.

I think it might be to do with skills queueing, hence being able to start attacking right away, but switching or deselecting targets lags. Perhaps it’s holding on to a target because of the auto-attack, or something…
