Any idea, what the purpose of the warrior is ?
Playing a “condition” spammer- with swords ain´t a viable option either, every class can remove conditions easily. To be effective, you have to cover up the bleeds with other conditions and hope, the mesmer, the thief, the enemy you are facing is not going to remove them instantly.. and how can we accomplish that as a warrior ?
Stun with a shield and trait Confusion (power) and cripple, maybe..
Have you tried a more defensive approach? I’m running with sword+shield / hammer and I haven’t got any problems surviving and dishing out some decent burst.
You can’t just categorize professions like you can in other MMO’s. All professions have a bunch of things they can do
I don’t intend to troll but have you ever thought its you that’s the problem and not the class? I’ve seen warriors wreck people and I’ve seen warriors get wrecked. Every class is a rock paper scissors to another class, but for the most part sPvp is very even. Warriors don’t require as much skill to play compared to other classes to be successful so it often leaves the player feeling lazy and not reacting to certain abilities the way he/she should. A good way to increase your skill with warrior is to learn every other classes abilities and behavior patterns. A mesmer creates clones, yes, but did you know if you ctrl + T over the real mesmer its extremely easy to differentiate the mesmer from his clones? A engineer has so many answers to so many situations but did you know they are weaker from a distance than point blank? A rifle warrior can take on a rifle engineer 1v1. A thief has a very powerful burst but did you know they have to be behind you to get the real burst? Back rolling when a thief stealths really hurts them.

How do you only have 2500 attack… I had 2500 attack when I was level 70 wearing blues…
Those are pathetic stats for a level 80.
It sounds like you don’t know how to gear your Warrior nor play him if you can’t handle Mesmers/Engineers. Guardians are also easy unless they are running away and kiting you for cooldown cycles. In that case, there’s no need to oblige them, just go for an objective. And elementalists shouldn’t be a problem.
If you have trouble against an elementalist in PvP, you should stick to PvE. They’re the worst profession 1v1 by a kitten amount.
Thiefs are only a problem if they abuse culling issues, where they basically get 3-4 attacks extra before appearing out of stealth. And even then, the bad ones will get instagibbed by Bolas>Frenzy + autos.
Elementalist are far from the worst class in 1v1 situations. Just because you haven’t fought against any skilled elementalist doesn’t mean they are bad. 1v1 is where my elementalist shines.

The way i’ve started playing the warrior is using greatsword/shield+sword in WvW, replacing the sword with axe in spvp.
Key thing…..Get out when you start to take damage/heal bar drops to half. You’re being foccussed, and you will probably go down soon. Use GS3/5 to escape. Drag them out, chances are they won’t chase. If they do….you have the means to keep running. Let your health tick back up and then turn around and go at it again.
NEVER use bullrush/frenzy right off. Save it. Use bullrush with no frenzy to make them blow escapes, Your bullrush will be up before their stunbreaker is back up.
Let them blow their key abilities. Control the fight, don’t be afraid to get some distance when they blow elite (like thieves guild/daggers), don’t just stand their taking the damage. Kite for 20 seconds then attack. Use a snare to distance yourself until an ability comes back up. Since I’ve started playing my warrior like this my success in most situations has gone up.
Mesmers and guardians are still stupidly opd though. But hey, every class has issues with them.
@Phaeris, a necromancer has absolutely no problem with a guardian. Everything a guardian can do a necromancer can counter. A necromancer is paper to a guardians rock. As for mesmers I find them easy to take down on elementalist, since everything a ele does D/D is AoE so the clones don’t really provide any benefit nor last long enough to explode. I believe a mesmer is a warriors paper, but they can be overcome with skill. Use the Ctrl T targeting trick, it greatly helps.

I don’t even need to target them to track the real one anymore.
Bad mesmers are straight forward, and you see alot of them as everyone wants to roll a mesmer thief or guardian in spvp to feel godly. But they still take off a chunk of health. I had a mesmer to 10 percent in a fight and I was still on 90 percent. He moa’d me, and there was nothing I could do. I died to his burst in a daze/stun lock of clones/phantoms. It’s an I win button with no comeback. If there’s no where to run/hide behind it’s effectively a 10 second stun with no stunbreak.
Ever fought a mesmer with a portal running? Fight going badly? Portal out!
Everyone has stories where they beat bad players. A good mesmer just won’t lose. If you can’t kill someone in a 10 second moa form, then what are you doing?
There aren’t any capture points without line of sight obstacles. You can effectively ‘dodge’ in Moa, even though it looks kitten You can also daze as a moa for 2 seconds. It’s always funny to get Moa’d then instantly daze them.

Actually a thief is more a warriors paper.
Thief steal > Whirlwind+evade > dagger storm/thieves guild > heartseeker spam.
Since you can’t actually do any damage to them during those first 12 seconds your only tactic is 1) take damage the whole time 2) use up shield block, endure pain and dodge twice (but still take a few seconds of damage, and then you’re completely defenceless for haste/heartseeker spam combo.
OR….just run away until he’s stopped spinning, which is honestly the best tactic currently. I swear thieves faces must light up seeing warriors, free 6 seconds of mobile damage and invulnerability!!!! yay!!!
You can line of sight, but you’re out the fight 10 seconds hoping no one follows you. 10 seconds in pvp is a lifetime.
I watched the numbers flying off me from a greatsword mesmer, they were hitting for the same damage as my greatsword 1 hits for, and I have to be on top of a target.
And chaos storm? That’s like having a really good utility skill in a 30 sec cooldown. It’s a complete fight changer. I would take that on my warrior if it were a minute cooldown elite. I played mesmer in beta as my main. That skill would turn whole zerg fights around.
On paper everything looks good. I mean warriors don’t have a single good ability at all that does anything useful for them. -rolls eyes-

Oh Oh I know the answer to this question, warriors are an unstoppable OP force of nature that Anet seems to have favortism for……I wish this was a joke but sadly it’s not.
If im correct, CTRL + T only works in a party-setup.
Sitting at 2500 attack and armor (magic find gear), did manage to win a 3vs1 scenario (levelupto 80 or not). And yep, with a rifle we deal some nice damage, few shots and most are at 50%, but come on— who wants to play a warrior with a rifle?
It´s like playing a 8´25" tall norn-thief with 5-inch daggers, that can´t be right? :)
Btw. this is the generic build i´m using to face zergs and ganking´em

This one also could be a potential “griefer” in a zerg encounter (yet to try)
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQNAS8ejcO1uVPuQMxBE0DsgL2CjCjQ8SKEjBE
The build is very flexible, since you have 20 in tactics you can swap out the major triats for something that benefits your team (+70 power etc.)
And yes, i´m the average Joe! ;)
