Guild Wars 2

For some time now, I have been roaming with this build:

It has proven very effective in 1 on 1’s against every other class; and is a beauty in team fights. The build boasts a lot of condition removal (Berserker Stance, Cleansing Ire and Lyssa Runes), a significant amount of damage output, and is reasonably tanky – with good mobility with the GS.

This build has been very enjoyable and is probably one of my favorites to play.

Sometimes however, when I am taking camps, I prefer to use Ham/LB, for the AOE damage and consistent damage whilst kiting. Furthermore, Ham/LB is also very effective against classes such as Mesmer – because the F1 can destroy all of their clones and give us a clean target to pin down – whilst cleansing our conditions thanks to Cleansing Ire (you do not need to hit the enemy using Longbow F1 for it to drain the adrenaline), so that is a great bonus when fighting condition heavy classes in general.

I thought I would introduce this build to the community, because there is usually something that can be improved upon; but I know that there have probably been many posts regarding a build such as this one… but for those who are looking for a fun and awesome build (IMO) – here you go!

This build is effective using the current state of the Hammer Warr’s skills (Stun Lock) but I would really like the x/LB alternative to it. Either Hammer/LB or GS/LB by using Pin Down (LB#5)-Bull’s Charge-Burst.

Feel free to use it while it exists tho cause the Stun Lock and Pin Down will see some kind of … nerf?

I’ve been running this same build for quite some time as well. However a few things

1. Condi reduction food without melandru or dogged march is only so good. Truffle steak(100 power, 70 prec) is much better.

2. Wtf why aren’t you using dogged march? The regen alone is wonderful. Stance mastery only adds 1 or 2 seconds to your stances.and if you take my advice youll only use one stance anyway.

3. Mobile strikes is meh to me. I use DotE. 6k earthshakers anyone?

4. With signet mastery, dolyak signet is almost the exact same thing as balanced stance, but with a passive increase to toughness when you don’t need it. I also use stamina signet for more dodges and complete condi wipe. Thats more personal preference tho.

5. You have the gear messed up. Full cavalier armor with full zerker trinkets will keep your armor at that 3k mark, but give you 100% crit dmg and a lot more power

This build is well known and widely used.

Some advice.

burst mastery in discipline does not add much. I do not use it and i hardly ever lack adrenaline for at least a 2 bar ES. Remember, you’re not using GS F1. Because lets face it, that’s a misclick.

Leg specialist got nerfed. It is now less reliable because of the cooldown. I underatand why you use it, to make sure your first stun move hits. Trust me though, with experience you will not need this anymore.

so where to put our newly found 20 trait points? Arms baby! Take VI and VII. You now have near perma-fury, sweet vigor, and your ES+next one or two hits always crit. Swap out that knight’s gear for cavalier and bam, 100% crit.

also, use hoelbrak or melandru and dogged march.

Awesome build bro! I agree with the other posters that dogged march is a must and burst mastery is kind of a waste…. but still I bet it is very effective!

I have been working on a GS/Ham build as well and playing around this is what I have come up with…

This build goes for damage…. But with knights armor and Hoelbrak runes I get plenty of defense, see image 3k+ armor. With full BL stacks my attack hits exactly 4k. I switch out my skill slots depending on the opponent, and usually run a condi cleanse or endure pain on the bar.

I’ve also been thinking of trying out 30 in Strength for funny power stat, but mainly the loss of Merciless Hammer really hurts. Your hammer damage also actually takes a minor hit due to most hits being on KD or stunned opponents.

GS will hit like a truck though. How is the burst with that? Seeing as you don’t get 50% crit chance from UF or ~100% Fury uptime.

Perhaps something like this? If you prefer a more offensive build with great passive condition cleansing?
