Are Duel axes viable?
Axe + Mace for a DPS set-up instead of Greatsword is viable too, but you have to have a Mace + Shield or Sword + Shield to compliment it.
Axe + Axe at its state right now though? No.
Axe/Mace is good for the extra few stacks of Vulnerability to go along with the Axe#2 attack.
If you’re looking for something a little different, I currently run with Axe/Warhorn. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIMQNBHhR6k0hogjdQACmIDAGFFFkSxbuleUGbrB
It’s more of a support-build rather than the pure damage build it seems you are looking for but with Empowered and Quick Breathing and the boons you get from the horn I’m liking the damage as well.

:( Its stupid you have to have a minimum of 15 characters.
For PvE its absolutely fine. Axe best attack sadly is its auto attack. Axe 5 isn’t terribly strong but it can hit more than 3 targets which is nice for certain things, like if you need to clear alot of weaker mobs all at once (and it also fills your adren in 1 cast if it hits more than 1 target.) I haven’t used it since i stopped farming plinx though haha (whirling axe was great for tagging stuff in DE)
Hello,
I am currently using a greatsword, but everyone seems to use great swords.
What would be a viable Duel Axe build, that is comparable to the DPS from a great sword build.
Thank you in advance.
are you talking about sPvP? cause just having an axe in your main hand means you can potentially dish out as much if not more then GS damage (even when considering the 100B burst potential ;D).
basically keep the same spec but switch GS traits for axe or crit traits, and you can drop the bullscharge every GS warrior uses for something else (if you want). i personally prefer having balanced stance over bullscharge, but thats just my preference. and trust me, we’ve tested it, the damage is roughly the same if not in the favor of the axe spec in fact, main difference is with axe you dont have to stand still or use a knockdown/stun first.

How do you apply this? I mean how do you play it? The build seems to be a dungeon run build but what kind of gear do you use?
And how do you fill the lacking gap for toughness, crit rate and also burst/crit damage if there is any?
What Sigils do you use? and also trinkets?
Would appreciate more details from the layout I liked that build ^.^
