Are Superior Runes Of Divinity Worth It?
You can take the runes out by salvaging,(the gear will be destroyed but you will have the rune).
About the ascended gear btw; I’ve read it will only be a few jewels (rings?) and the backpiece coming this patch, so your main exotic gear shouldn’t be outdated yet anyway.
Also: isn’t the trading post cross server? I’m not sure about that one, but I thought the market was global (not that it makes any difference to the OP :p )
Honestly if you are going full Berserker (Berseker waep, armor and trinkets) then it’s actually best just to slot the Ruby Orbs. I believe you get more crit damage from them and more power and precision. The only thing you miss out on is 60 of all the other stats.
IMO Divinity runes are better suited for Knight gear because the night gear mixes is damage and defense so these will compliment that gear very well. I say if I were you I wouldn’t dump 30g on that gear. Go with Ruby orbs, they are much cheaper.
Well the reason I was thinking of going with Divinity Runes is because they’re simple. They provide a rounded number of things, and there’s nothing I need to “proc” or anything like that. No 5% chance for _ to happen etc. So I figured for general PvE they may be my best option, as they will be providing some survivability aswell as improved DPS.
If on the other hand as Methias said above, I’d be better suited to using Jewels in my gear instead of Runes, I may end up doing that. I’d just like to hear what people say about it, as I’m not sure what the general consensus is on using Jewels/Gems instead of Runes on armour.
I always figured it was best to go with Runes instead of Jewels/Gems on armour, but then again I’ve not read up too much on it, so I may be wrong.
If you’re worried about money, you can pick up four major divinity runes for a few silver. Same crit damage, you only lose out on +5 of each stat. Cost is about…1% of the superior runes.
If thats is your main pve armor, going with ruby orbs will work out nicely. For whatever reason, a friend of mine had stocked up on them before their prices got so crazy and lent me a set to try it out …. in the end i didnt really feel the impact of the extra 60 vit/healing/toughness/condition damage was worth it compared to the nice power/crti chance/ crit damage bonus
i like to use a berserker set in my pve and wvw sets, and with the ruby orb, you get more power, precision and crit damage compared to the divinity runes… i think its more in line with the berserker gear/mindset ^^
In my opinion not worthy at all. Use Ruby Orbs instead.
There are better runes to chose from which will give you much more then Divinity set.
All you have to do is to know what build are you going to use, what set and then establish what are need for your character to be complete and use runes to achieve it.
For example:
If you’are running a dps charachter in berserker armour you would use more health points. You can then equip some nice runes that will give you some health boost.
If you’re running might speced Warrior there are some nice runes that will give you some might boost etc. etc.
Any speed runes are always a good idea as well as you want to move quicker around the battlefield.
To cut the long story short, you need to know what you want and then adjust runes to suit.

Soldier runes for shouts are always a good choice.
superior runes of lyssa, all buffs for 7 sec every 40 sec for a large dmg spike (take inc dmg/boon trait) or a boost to suvivability. also gives precision for high crit % which not only ads more dmg, but increases life steal proc from omnom pies.
or soldier runes for the shout build as above.
though with the lyssa runes you can do 10 str V, 20 arms V,X, 30 tactics V,VI, XI, 10 disp V, GS/rifle
I’m not a fan of divinity runes at all. I’m not sure why you’d want to split your stats.
I like runes of rage combined with the 100% fury uptime, insane might stacks dps warrior spec and defensive stats on gear.
The highest DPS runes to use with a GS are 6x Superior Runes of Strength. They beat every other rune including ruby orbs for pure DPS on any build that can keep might active.
If you’re running shouts and want to have more survivability/group utility, 6x Runes of the Soldier is a no-brainer. Dungeon groups will love you.
For general PvE, I suggest 5x Rune of the traveler/pirate/noble and 1x Rune of the traveler/pirate/noble(excluding the one you got your 5x from). Magic find is great for maximizing profit/drops.
