Let’s be honest, most people were playing Hammer because of the 3second stun every 7s. I am expecting the number of hammer trains to go down a lot. Of course I’ll still be playing hammer, it’s the only weapon I have used for a long time, so I don’t know much about any other weapon. But are people already thinking about the next build they will be using?

Shout Warriors may become a really real thing, but then again it might not. What do you all think?

Why would it go down?

The AoE nerf makes hammer training even easier. =( Plus between Leg Specialist stealth buff and Staggering Blow, Hammer’s actually gotten buffed for us.

im sure trying new builds. immo build since no cd on spec leg anymore, tanky damage support with shout build etc…

with shout, you can literally burst heal your team from 1 hp to 10k+ hp in less then one sec.

Yeah…I’m trying a melee dps zerger…

Trying to decide whether I like the extra dps of Reckless Dodge spam vs Leg Specialist near perma immob, heh.

I know a friend who’s going back to a shout warrior in cleric’s with the heal buffs.

I’m gonna give shout warrior a go for the first time with the Magi set I’ve been compiling.
Not too many changes for my playstyle to consider with this patch other than whether I bring Empower Allies or not.

Hammer is still extremely viable, I may give Leg Specialist a spin with it having no CD now, but for the moment my only thing is what to replace Empower Allies with, am thinking about trying running Lung Capacity at 10 and Quick Breathing at 20. With the Shout Heals getting a solid buff it may be worth it to get some more healing power where I can in the trinkets and such to throw out even more heals than I already will.

its now basically either melandru+lemongrass or cleansing ire+burst mastery. warhorn is not an option anymore for condi cleansing and there is no reason to use it anymore as the condi cleansing has been cut in half.

i fear we will look back to this day and remember the good old wvw as it is now – Jan 2015

What are we talking here? Spvp? WvW solo in zerg? WvW guild groups (20+)?

I’m playing mainly as part of a guild group in WvW and for me Hammer got only buffs, never did run para sigil on hammer in the circumstances, fire and bloodlust are my choices. Para sigil feels rather useless because of the nature of the fight, doesn’t matter if it’s 2 sec or 3 sec, unless the enemy stun breaks out into a dodge in the first second he will die.

Now the lung capacity, warhorn fix and leg specialist(if not fixed) gives me a pause. The balance of a standard worker 0/0/30/30/10 hammer/sw+wh warrior shifts from offense to defense to a point where it’s questionable if it’s worth running a pre patch balanced warrior. (I’m calling a balanced warrior something like ~20+% crit, 2,9+def, 28+k hp, str primary stat).

Leg specialist without icd is simply incredible and was practically a must before nerf. If it stays you will be seeing a lot more hammer/gs warrior variations running in guild groups again for sure. I’m not seeing a standard worker taking it simply since condition removal is taking a huge hit when considering WH nerf , which gets compensated by lung capacity with soldier runes. I really don’t want to get a headache over Leg Specialist until we find out if it’s intended or a fast fix tho.

In the end I must say these changes open up a lot of room for build variation.

Forgot to address your pot in my previous one. It being true that warhorn looses some of the condi cleanse it still remains very viable in guild group WvW considering it has perma speed, one of the few viable blast finishers and vigor buffing.

Tactics minor would be Lung Capacity.

Traits can be changed to tactics minor Leg Specialist, major Quick Breathing taking Sword/Warhorn instead (or Axe/Warhorn if you just want the condi cleanse).

Is it better to go 0/0/20/30/20 taking Sharpening Axes as major discipline trait?

How much Healing Power is needed to make use of Vigorous Shouts? Should I drop the cleric gear and go full zerk, or add mor cleric?

Would this spec be viable for PvE, although not optimized?
