Hello warrior spvp community,
First of all, I just wanted to give you all props to sticking with a class that is literally so pitifully ignored with respect to its balance issues in spvp. Now let me introduce mysely,
My name is twindragona I’ve been playing gw2 for a while and I’m a serious pvp goon. I took a break before about 2 months ago due to college getting hectic . I love theorycrafting, working out class mechanics and improving skills. Thats what attracted me to this game in the first place: The fact that there is actually a tangible difference between players with skill despite the equal footing in terms of gear and access to equipment. I’ve played the game since beta but only casual pvp. I hate pve and I believe that role players are from satan. Until about 4 months in I had no level 80. I have about 800hrs of game time logged (/age to check btw). I main an ele and thief. I have played all classes to understand them. Warrior has always been my worst.
My thief is Skobeloff. My Ele is twindragona, my ranger is Twinpokies, my warrior is Twin butcher… list goes on many twins…except for my thief. I don’t get more creative than that.
Yesterday, I I decided to look into the warrior and figure out some of its mechanics because I knew how bad the warrior situation is and wanted to see if I could still learn it and rock at it. I wanted a challenge. so I looked through traits and came up with this build that I’ve now been using for a day
I tried contacting some big guns like Hmann, tehmaker, defektive or kpop js to see them use it in a duel with me on my ele main because there is always a required amount of skill behind a build and they are very familiar with ins and outs such as juggling etc. I am too, but they’d be better. Unfortunately, I’m currently interning in an EU country and that really makes it hard to contact anyone including my usua tpvp buds.
So here is the final product of some thinking, optimizing and testing. I think its awesome. When warriors get buffed, it could be epic! that would be amazing. What it (and the entire warrior class) really needs is more Cond. Removal.
Literally, if that “quick breathing” warhorn trait removed 3 conditions instead of just 1 similar to the cleansing flame utility skill of the elementalist that would be great balance for me. hmm i should suggest that somewhere…
Of course it would pin us to one weapon but it would be a great quick fix as they work on other fixes. Like reducing the shout cooldown? I think fear me had an 80 sec cooldown lol – atrocious and stupid

Build mechanics:
The build has a great amount of adrenaline generation and survival as well as pretty solid burst and sustain.
Defense traits:
it was either Adrenaline on hit or dogged march. Ive decided that adrenaline on hit is more useful than like 150 health/s and only when I get imbed, crippled, etc… lame
adrenal breathing does enough of the job.
Last stand – in the defense trait line allows me to free up a skill slot (no need for balanced stance). I use of signet of might in place of it but only because I wanted more burst Its likely to change.
Tactics:
Leg specialist – allows me to cc,kite and also prevent people from kiting me.
quick breathing – is how I even last. The cleansing is awesome. In addition to signet of stamina and the Mending heal, I really can survive well against most classes. Necro’s and hgh engies will always be hard. BM rangers actually aren’t that bad.
Discipline:
Heightened focus – because I need more crit chance.
Signet mastery – Not too sure of this one but I like that my signet of stamina and the other 2 that I use get more usage.
Burst mastery: all the eviscerate and blurred frenzy and little adrenaline usage makes this amazing. I forfeited berserker’s power in strength for this.
Mechanics:
Briefly,
I often gap close with savage leap followed by a quick hamstring or flurry. When I flurry I only immobilize then stow. I switch to axe and eviscerate but if I’m not 3 bars up with adrenaline I shield bash or auto attack. I rarely shield stance unless I need to.
I also use shield bash to close gaps and stun followed by throw axe. I cyclone axe whenever I’m in range. I usually would then switch to sword/warhorn and hamstring then flurry (but not the whole thing.) The entire flurry isnt really worth it so I js use it to build some adrenaline and immobilize. Its fun gameplay and I’m still working it out, after all I js made this yesterday and I’ve never really known how to play warrior until I actually put my mind to it last night.
I would love any criticism/suggestions/feedback. I’m just doing this for fun, warrior is not my main but I honestly think this build is a great one, I’d love to see the class grow and use it more.
