So I am not a pro warrior but I play a decent amount in solo tpvp and hotjoins. I don’t wvw with my warrior.

My playstyle is run around in cc’ing the crap out of people with my snares, using sword adrenaline skill to root, then using HB to do damage to rooted targets.

Everything else I have is for keeping me alive while I do this. Hence, 30 defense+healing signet, defy pain, end pain, balanced stance, dolyak.

My problem with banners is that we have to drop them on the ground. If we are forced to kite and run away we lose the benefits.

I’ve been experimenting with dropping my dolyak signet (which I use for stability) in exchange for any of the banners. I tried the healing one and the critical damage one.

My problem is that they plant into the ground and I don’t notice if I even used one or not based on my performance after they are on the ground. If the tides turn in a fight and more enemies show up and I need to run the banner is 100% useless and on a long CD.

Why can’t a warrior summon a banner and attach it to his back or something so that the benefits can move around with him while at the same time keeping the skills of his weapons. I feel like the current implementation of the banner too situational.

I think this is the only way to make banners really worth it. In stationary fights they work but everything else kind of sucks.

EDIT: Another suggestion would be to make it so when you summoned one of these banners it would do like an aoe knockback or something. Give it like a 1-2s cast time. Similar to guardians aoe bubble knockback when reviving.

Don’t get your problem.
Banners rock in stationary combat and CAN be carried but are not really godlike in mobile warfare.
Works as intended, I’d say.It’s like people complaining about the long windup on killshot. They are SUPPOSED to be of good use in stationary combat but a bit unreliable in mobile fights. If you want to understand where I’m coming from, look at ranger spirits.
Then say again, banners are bad in any way.
Banners are utterly amazing.
Got a large scale event? drop banners!
need to hold a choke? drop banners!
need to hold a point? drop banners!
Need to do some gimpy jumps while chasing some random guy? Get some friggin shouts instead, that’s not what banners were designed for!

The only crime, turrets committed, is being good against the celestial meta.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.

I’m just saying that I don’t ever want to use a banner on my warrior because the benefit of it in a stationary fight does not out weight it’s uselessness in every other situation.

You have to be in a stationary fight.
You have to be equal to or out number your opponents.
You have to win the fight.

Only with these conditions met do you actually get the full use of your banner, so really, what’s the point of them?

I honestly think if they just attached to your back at all times after being summoned or had the option of being picked up and attached to your back giving you normal skil set + benefits would make more sense.

Banners are great for point defense in WvWvW. You drop them and all your guys get stronger. Now don’t say shouts. Banners do something, shouts can never achieve: They buff raw stats.
You should realize, just how utterly broken banners are already just by sheer numbers.
Name me one shout/skill which comes close to what a banner of discipline does to your team(besides timewarp). The damage increase for the team is huge. In a big AoE, while everyone gets free regen. And it has 100% uptime.
If banners are changed the way, you suggest, the stats need to be cut down by at least 66% or they will be outright broken.

Lol, if you could carry banners with you, they would be pretty kitten overpowered.

You would end up with all warriors running Banner of Discipline and Inspiring Battle Standard. Not to mention Battle Standard with Fury, Might and Swiftness.

I like banner spec when dungeon bossing or cof farm, because it’s give all member more stat than normal. for wvw I just drop a banner & other people will be take it for us

banner useful now, it’s give more than 2x stat after last patch
