All professions have been nerfed. Rangers cry for the lack of stability. Necros cry for the nerf on Vital persistance, and so on. Everyone is crying, but if everything is nerfed, then there is no place for your complaints.
I like the change as the berserker spec was a nobrain one. No, seriously, you fill this bar at that speed and you get the same advantages as a full 3 adrenaline bar in normal mode ???? sPvP warrior was spamming berserker mode, getting tons of buffs and then spamming f1.
For what I read for the moment, new spec are not broken ones as it was for HoT. And whatever, we still don’t know what they are made of. At least, the new spec propose a skillful gameplay based on reaction, interruption and boonstrip. That is far more interesting than pressing f1 repeatedly.

The issue is that the change to Berserker’s Power does not do what the Developer’s said it is supposed to do. “The change to Berserker’s Power should encourage Warriors to use Level 1 bursts.” However, it is impossible to maintain 3 stacks of Berserker’s Power unless you use a Level 3 burst, as 10 seconds is too short for the duration of all stacks of Berserker’s Power not to refresh when a new stack is applied.
It is also another nerf to Power Berserker, which already sucks. Condi Berserker benefited from this patch.

The fix is easy. Any new application of Berserker’s Power and Adrenal Health refreshes the duration of previous stacks. Not much of an ask.
Nerfing PVE builds is utterly, and absolutely pointless. All this does is increase the build diversity rift between condition and power that already exists for no good reason right now. This is a huge change that not only screws over raids and meta, it screws over regular mob play in an open world. It only reinforces more micromanging play instead of using and managing skills tactically in order to become optimal and efficient. It’s already acknowledged that power warriors/zerkers were already nerfed to some extent but now this has become even more ludicrous.
If this is done to keep spellbreaker in line, then it’s nothing more than some of the worst game design philosophy ever. Not only is this change completely out of hand for reducing power builds even further, the principle of nerfing for upcoming content just to create a niche for it is negative reinforcement. Taking away something to just to give something back to replace it isn’t the same as what it was before. It stings and it sucks.
All this does is limit build diversity and overall enjoyability of the game.
That said, what Mikeskies said would be a proper way to balance out the nerf. That at least promotes sustained and gameplay and ramping up damage over time instead of this being a chasing the tail end of a timer.

Not everyone like the jumping monkey playstyle aka thievs, or press buttons races.
If the purpose of this game is to turn all classes into thievs bouncy and dodges race I was cheated.
If they wanted to take away the Berzerker, they should have taken a look at the garbage Core Burst skills warriors are stuck with (Especially flurry – that skill is suicide to use.)

Agreed.
In a game that theres a “meta” its not create diversity, but just trash other options in favor of the “new meta”.
I still do not have that much of a problem with it, the worst of it is to force playroles, the last thing I want with the warrior is be support or healer or a trick “conditionmancer”, or a “jumping ninja”, for this I have made a guardian and a druid, also have a necro, i have a thiev too.
I’m not against diversity since there’s no meta, which is not the case with guild wars 2.

Berserker’s Power is a PvE trait and the best trait Power warriors had in increasing their already underwhelming sustained damage. The change goes against what ArenaNet stated what they change would do: feel good about using consecutive low level bursts.
They could have made it a fair middleground to 2 stages instead of just 1. Or the activation of berserkermode count as 1 and tge burst count as one.
You wouldnt build it up like crazy, still had some sacrifice to take as an e-spec but dont have to compromise that much that it actually makes traits so much worse in the e-spec.

the problem is, they did not add a positive to the trade off for using lower level bursts at all.
There were so many possibilities they could have went with to make it feel better.
1) they could have lowered the cool down of bursts for using a lesser burst allowing for more consecutive level 1 bursts (not recommended as that is the point of primal burst)
2) increase the duration of berserker’s power with a lower level burst, allowing them to actually make use of the god kitten stacking mechanic… Giving players a lower overall time with 3 stacks than level 3 burst would have gave them, but with a longer time having berserk power active in total.
3) reset the timer each burst, which will have players devoting most the playtime to keeping the stack up, making it yet again just have players have to keep gaining adrenaline, it would just be another rat race to 3…. but if we allowed this we could potentially have 3 for indefinite playtime…. so for both those reasons… i say this does not work either…. we cannot have players use a level 3 burst and then keep it going with level 1 bursts. Its too much.
4) Throw out the stacks, just go with the max with every burst. 1 2 3 all the same, just have each burst level have a different timer. With the right lengths, you could totally balance berserker’s power for each burst level.
any of the above + this) just make bursts worth 3 kitten, or atleeeeast make entering berserk worth 3! As i See it, you are using 3 stages, then refilling a single stage.

I can’t really understand your passive aggressive question, so I’m just gonna pretend you asked me why berserker is better than base war for condi builds in pve, wvw, and pvp.
While i should think it should be obvious that berserker, even after primal burst nerf, is still better for warrior condi builds because of the fact that many primal burst skills are better condi attacks on general and because berseker actually offers traits that directly boost condi damage, i am also gonna say this: power war never replaced condi war because the latter ceased to be meta in pvp back when war was meta. Power war was simply better at shredding guardians who at the time were also very common. Condi war was always very viable in pvp. So is guardian. But neither of these classes have been meta at the pro scene which is another thing entirely from being meta at solo queue.
That’s just pvp. Berserker is still meta in pve because the meta there is condi ps war.

Just make activating Berserk count as using a burst…. It requires 3 adren to activate, consumes those adren, should be treated as spending 3 adren on a burst imo. Leave everything else as is.
