Berserker - Possible datamined elite spec
According to the weapons, i guess it will be torch….
i hoped for dagger..
to much melee already i think.
i guess pistol (i dont like legendary skin but…) cuzz the war
need more speed.
Did anybody see a warrior using Elite Spec weapon in the trailer?
my guess, Warrior is the one Profession who does not get any new weapon, as they already have lots of options.
I read people complain that dual-wielding for Warrior is not that great anymore (mostly on axe/axe)
maybe the specialization will deal about dual-weapon skills? similar to how thief dual-wield skills are a combination of weapon 1 and 2. with the current weapons this would be 15 dual wield skills. (sword/sword, sword/axe, sword/mace, sword/shield, sword/warhorn, axe/sword, axe/axe, axe/mace, axe/shield, axe/warhorn, mace/sword, mace/axe, mace/mace, mace/shield, mace/warhorn)

All elite specialization get a new weapon. Anet words not mine.
Then maybe dagger off hand for 3 more dual wield skills?
the ability to wield a 1h axe in two hands and have the model scale would be rad. doubt it would happen though.

Giving us Conjuration skills and giving us a Conjure Great Fire Axe would do the trick.
same for Conjure Land Spear. Which could also explain that datamine art of warrior with land spear.
I take conjure versions of them till the real deal comes in…

kits would be better than conjures imo. we could be the true weapon master. 7 weapons in one build oh yes.

I think warrior will get torch and will have some sort of weapon enhancement (fiery weapons?) and will get burning condition.
2h Axe!
2h axe i wish, but anet said they are not adding anmore new weapons to the game. Torch sounds reasonable.

Berserker will be an elite specialization for the Warrior which emphasizes damage through the use of special Berserker gear.
Oh wait. That’s what all Warriors are already.

So, I been giving this a lot of thought, since ‘Berserker’ doesn’t really tell us anything specific much like how ‘Forge’ is with Engineer.
Given the information we know about Specializations and how they ‘adjust’ the way we play our professions and from everything seen thus far, I am going to make an educated guess on what ‘Berserker’ means for us.
We are aware of how Dragonhunter, Chronomancer, and Reaper have their profession abilities tweaked or outright changed in their utility with the elite specializations, no?
Let’s assume then that the Warrior profession skill changes as well, let’s also assume Arenanet are clever at throwing us off ever since the reveal of Dragonhunter (Guardian with traps? Yea I think 1 person called it on a whim).
So..ahem.
Our Elite Specialization, on key with ‘Berserker’, gets a ‘Greataxe’ for a weapon.
However, it is not an actual weapon but the Greataxe IS our profession skill.
We build up Adrenaline, and when we activate our Greataxe it replaces what we are wielding with 5 new weapon skills catered to it, the Greataxe using the stats of our last equipped weapon as a base (Amplified of course, its the profession skill).
As we use the Greataxe skills we deplete Adrenaline regardless of hit or miss, however effects like Cleansing Ire which grant adrenaline when we get hit will still apply in this Berserker state. Weapon-swapping will take us out of the Greataxe form but keep the adrenaline at that level, but since it is our profession skill it carries an 8 second CD before we can activate it again.
So, this means we have three weapons, and our burst skill is us wielding a greataxe.
Boom.

Elite specialization = new elite skill : summon greataxe.
Extra weapon : consider it summoned.
No ? To soon ? ^^
@Sykper
I’ve seen similar suggestions. I think I’d vastly prefer having some sort of Fiery Greataxe as an adrenaline dump instead of weapon conjures or kits. It solves our profession mechanic issue, but still doesn’t tell us what the new utility skills are, and only if you squint really hard does it fulfill the requirement for the new weapon.
I take it all back.
I have been made aware of some ‘chat codes’ of certain pieces of gear, and well, I am extremely curious how it will blend with the ‘Berserker’ tag.
Not going to spoil anything here, if you really want to know the word will spread quickly I imagine.

Yes as ele will most likely get the datamined warhorn, warrior new spec should use that torch, what is really bad for me at least.
How do we think berserker and torch tie together thematically?
I still think it will be main hand or off hand torch, but a summoned greataxe would be cool

I’m ok with offhand torch. Fire and gunpowder could equal burst and blinds. Like a Sapper.
I’ll be glad if we’re getting torch. I don’t want pistol, dagger, or pretty much anything else from Thief, really. I mean I’ll take it if we get it but thematically I think it’s lame. If a warrior wants a ranged weapon he won’t take the tiny pistol and be subtle about it; he’ll take the shotgun (rifle) and go in a Duke Nukem style rampage with it.
That said, I’m not a fan of the “Berserker” name because it’s the name of a stat set. If we’re getting comboed with guardian I think a name like “Champion” would make more sense. If we’re getting comboed with mesmer (the only other torch user that’s not already paired) I admit I don’t have a better name for the elite spec.
I think I’d rather see dagger. Then grant the ability to wield it in offhand with a 2-hand weapon. Not quite “titan’s grip” but still cool. Have it add some skills that deal with using it as a parrying dagger that counters with conditions, punishing opponents with quick counter attacks that weaken and bleed them to death. Could be interesting for hybrid builds.
Also have the mainhand deal slower speed but heavy blows kind of like necromancer/reaper and have the offhand work as part of the heavy combos, heavy blow quick condition slash.

Maybe we’ll be the ones getting a defiance bar??
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/specializations-part-two-reward-tracks-and-elite-specializations/
Towards the bottom of that news articles we have quotes saying “I’m personally excited about a grandmaster trait that has the power to grant my character a defiance bar!”. It makes a lot of sense theme wise and fits the name very well. However, if it happens to be what we get, dont think it’ll have much impact on PvE but maybe helps with PvP?? not sure.
If they added dagger as an offhand, I’d like to see it have a ranged attack option and a melee attack option. For example, here are a couple attack skill ideas (would need balancing):
4 – Blinding Throw (or Deadeye Throw, or something similar) – blind 5 seconds + stun 1 seconds, dmg ~150 to ~200, counts as a projectile finisher. A hit with this skill would include a follow-up attack skill similar to Impale/Rip which would do significant damage (~600 or more) and would deliver a few stacks of vulnerability.
5 – Coup-de-grace (or Death Strike or Death Blow) – Melee attack that deals increasing damage based on the the inverse health percent of the target (i.e smaller damage to near full health foes, and higher and higher amounts of damage to foes at progressively lower amounts of health, possible range of ~100 to ~1000 damage) with the special ability to insta-kill a downed target.
The recharges on both attacks may need to be moderately long to help balance their high DPS.
