Warriors, here’s your build and utilities you need, enjoy taking these.
ps I’m really enjoying my Revenant. Feels a lot like old school Warrior (pretty mobile, pretty durable, lacks hard-core on condition removal, with one/two ability exceptions, lacks on ranged damage weapon).
Buffs might LOOK nice, but this does NOTHING to address the core problems with Warrior & Berserker. This is such a lazy “fix” and things like this just lead to power creep and damage inflation instead of actually correcting problems.
We need the Warrior mechanics fixed BEFORE you manipulate numbers, ANet.

I said this on my thread earlier, but keep in mind this is not an official balance patch or anything. They’ve mentioned they will be doing little fixes though if needed and it does show that they are listening, but probably addressing the problems in order.
Base warrior does still need work, but I’m very glad they jumped on berserker as the first choice because it was a spec that was very underwhelming and saw 0 professionals playing it. The berserker changes are nice and is a step in the right direction, which means they might focus on core warrior next!

Hardly any1 wants to play warrior condi…. they need this. These changes mean nothing in in pvp. They need to split beserker up so you can either go condi or go pure gsword/hammer dmg with it. They needa bring in fast hands and embrace pain to the tree somehow…

I don’t really see it as a nerf, bleeding wasn’t that great and it gives power builds more options to be bursty. A gs warrior could now take that for another damage increase and access to a short taunt.
Can King of Fires exceed the 100% increased duration cap? If the tooltips are any indication, it seems like it may work like the Necromancer scepter trait. I haven’t had a chance to test the actual duration, and I’m only getting to a theoretical 118% duration, so it will be hard to test, but it would be good to know if the tooltips are just wrong.

I don’t like the way the sword’s Primal Burst skill Flaming Flurry works. The 900 range is out of place on a melee weapon, and it needs to be a conical AOE so that it hits mobs if they are a little to the right or left.

Can King of Fires exceed the 100% increased duration cap? If the tooltips are any indication, it seems like it may work like the Necromancer scepter trait. I haven’t had a chance to test the actual duration, and I’m only getting to a theoretical 118% duration, so it will be hard to test, but it would be good to know if the tooltips are just wrong.
You can never trust the tool tips, that is the only constant. Honestly, warriors just can’t apply conditions fast enough to make a condi build good, not compared to the power builds.
Better yet, how about just get rid of the Flaming Flurry projectiles and have the skill work like the regular Flurry but with 8 stacks of burning and cleave 3 targets.

Gotta agree here, the burning on torch sucks the big one.
Bloody Roar had good synergy with builds using Body Blow and Distracting Strikes. That synergy is now much less. That being said the Daze on Blaze breaker IS nice so I guess it’s just a tradeoff. Will probably help a lot with hybrid builds.
Core Warrior still has issues, but it’s something.
Also, the extra damage will now hopefully mean that you can drop Strength in some builds and not be totally screwed.

I think nerfing DH and daredevil thief, druid only a little bit will solve all problem.

Missed the spot entirely… they did the “lets throw them a bone” easy way out and failed.
Berseker is still bad. It’s boring and offers nothing new.
Yet another useless list of buffs. Its like anet insists on guiding berserker in the wrong direction, unwilling to admit they have been wrong on the implementation of berserker.
This balance patch is plainly lip service.

The biggest problem, the basic Warrior, did not get any love, just the elite spec got propped a bit.
I wouldn’t expect any change to the base profession for at least another major balance pass, ie sometime next year.
Trying to stay positive, I’m hoping that the adrenaline nerf on Always Angry is a sign that they’re planning on fixing adrenaline decay somewhere down the track, &/or add a little baseline adrenaline to vanilla warrior.
Seem like many people just want warrior being OP class. Why not just go play druid or DH something? They are pretty much regarded in spvp forum section to.be nerfed for their OPness. Patch now is fine, warrior is fine. If you want to play as op class as them, just go play them. -.-

No, I want a spec that can be fun and actually brings a new playstytle to the class. Berseker as a whole for pve is nothing more than a speed buff for just a few seconds. It’s very underwhelming and boring.

The real underlying pvp problem imo is that every class puts out SO much blind/evade/block now that warrior, who got utterly no tools to handle or compete with this, completely fails to deliver in any team fight.
Well at least this might let you drop strength line now with all these damage buffs – would need more testing, but I’m fairly certain warrior will be in the exact same spot unless they update his mechanics or nerf the other classes’

Yup, I belive the design job was poorly done. Way off the warrior concept besides the name. Warriors are far from being the class who endures combat, but the class who only has a few seconds of combat and is crap the rest. We (as bersekers) are the worst for long fights, opposite to what one would expect of a warrior. I don’t even need to get into details, numbers, stadistics,… there is plenty of data gathered and provided from players to ANET. Free work done by the community for them, and they simply ignored it and came out with the laziest kind of fix. It is disrespectful. They tried to be original with this concept, but they failed. They should man up and fix it if they ever want to have anything decent as an esport.
The dmg boost has allowed me to at least travel around in HoT without dying to trash mobs. running arms tactics and berzerk with sinister gear sword torch/bow. Though no there appears to be no dmg mitigation boost my warrior seems much more robust than he was prepatch.

Simply adding % modifiers wont fix the warrior, we need trait synergy and mechanic improvements along with large weapon skill buffs. Hopefully this is just the tip of the iceberg in regards to changes.
Tip: go look at other classes
After playing around with Zerker again, I come to the same conclusion. It has no idea what it want’s to be. The condi traits are worse than arms, the power traits are worse than strength, and it brings so little for a cele build that you’re better off without it. Every single trait is like a worse version of something already warrior has.
Discipline is pretty much required for every warrior build, Defense right behind that, and the other 3 fill in your playstyle. Arms for condi, Tactics for support, Strength for damage. There’s just no room for a kitten trait line that’s inferior to the rest.
I mean why would I ever take Zerker over Strength when it comes to damage? Strength has damage on dodge roll, Peak Performance, Forceful Greatsword, and Berserker’s power. All of which outclass things like Always Angry and Bloody Roar.
Most of these traits aren’t even good. One stack of burning for rage skills? Which are already pretty bad outside of headbutt and outrage. The burst skills in some cases become worse, like hammer/longbow. Blood reaction is weak and Dead or Alive is just a worse version of Defy Pain.
I’m not even sure what to do to make it viable. Apply burning on crits? 2 stack? Dead or Alive is just a 6k heal when you pop Berserk? Make it so when you break a stun, you remove 2 conditions?

Tested it I don’t like that. I agree Anet as no idea what to do with this. This was a lazy change. When you compared to what other class bring this is a freaking joke.
They hope this would mute us and get over it but they have no idea what to do.

I’m guessing these are the changes that have been tested and implemented thus far. You know, since it takes time to move things from the concept stage to the implementation stage.

Sorry but it does show they are NOT listening since NONE of the changes asked were implemented in any sort of way..
And also 0 feedback was given from ANET since when?? BWE2?? BWE3??? YAY… GREAT WAY TO LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY..

There is like super easy lazy way to fix the warrior, since we don’t have shroud with 5 additional skills, don’t have attunements like ele with 15 extra skills, don’t have like extra utility bar like revs, etc. Just give us extra trait line to use. So it’s gonna be 4 instead of 3.
Then yeah, Berserker might work, like GS/Hammer, you have insane damage but u still die fast. Shoutbow you ll add strong damage component to it. And that ll leave the room for good condi builds.

It’s only some days after the expansion, do you really think Anet could come up with a fundamental change to the class at this point? I see it as a huge boost to power build dps which is a quick response to “I don’t see a reason to play berserker, it does not add enough damage to pick it over another line.”
The damage modifiers added are huge. I haven’t done the math, but together with Ferocity, Fury, Quickness and the general speed boost in Berserker it’s probably not weaker than Strength.
I think this opens up new build options. You can drop Strength without a dramatical dps loss (especially in none-GS builds), you can drop Defense to greatly boost your damage instead and you can drop Discipline to have both huge dps and sustain at the cost of less flexibility and mobility.
So basically Berserker is a “power-up” button. Warrior still basically fight exactly the same. Is this really a specialization? Other class got so many new mechanics and abilities. Warriors got one button F3 that power us up for a brief moment. Where is the fun in that?
Structured PvE warriors are able to deal a bit more damage now. The change was probably adressing all of the complaints about the main focus on condition damage over raw dps.
So, with that change to King of Fires, I’ve swapped out 6X Superior Runes of Balthazar for 2X Superior Runes of the Trapper and 4X Superior Runes of the Nightmare. With Rare Veggie Pizza, Toxic Focusing Crystal, and Superior Sigil of Malice, I’m at 98% for both bleeding and burning duration.
Anyways, the Warrior condi play in PvE is good only for the lols, and I’m probrably going to Mystic Forge this Sinister heavy armor to make another Berserker’s set so my Revenant and Warrior don’t have share armors. Anyone think I should hang onto this Sinister armor? I’ve given up on condi Revenant, should I roll a burn guard to get some use of it?

broski I turned my warriors zerker armor into Vipers for my rev and its complete garbage, and it aint worth it on war either. I wanna keep it for the day rev is good at condi but now my warrior is armorless and I dont wanna take my guard or revs ascended off.
