Hey guys, haven’t played since the first month and having trouble deciding on a class as I’ve found them all pretty fun.

My friend and I plan on just roaming WvW for small skirmishes and such.

What class do you guys like to team up with the most? I already have an 80 Guardian, looking for something different.

I would say guardian

Guardian. You play one so you should know.

They can give you boons and remove conditions. Plus with a lot of CCs to help you land skills like 100b.

Guardian.
Warrior provides the conditions on enemies, Guardian provides the boons on the two of you.

If you have protection & regen and your enemies have weakness, you’re golden.

Have you noticed how in a dungeon you can dish out tons of damage and the only reason you’re not dead in melee range is because there’s a Guardian spamming boons beside you? Yeah…

Guardian and Necro.

Guardinas give you the defensive boons while you dish out the damage.

Necros can death grip enemies toward you for your HBing pleasure. (Or, if you feel like trolling, kicking them off the edge of a cliff.)

Guardian or Ele. Nothing kittens off someone more at nearly dropping a Warrior only for an Ele to zip over, switch to water, Evasive Arcana, Cleansing Wave, maybe throw in Auras out of spite. Not to mention actually helping with DPS whereas Guardians just sort of watch. An organised CC spam will drop anyone without stability.

Almost anything however bang for your buck goes to Ele and Guardian. Any class that boons us is very good to team up with. That being said for the sake of roaming Thieves ele and any class that can keep up make great companions.

I’d have to say guardian, hands down. Did a tpvp daily with guildies last Saturday. We split into two groups: 1) the warrior and I (guardian) and 2) the other three as a group. Let’s just say that RoW + 100b wrecks people.

I’d rather have a necromancer with me just to corrupt the boons of the silly kitten classes who rely on having a huge stack of them. Nothing makes me laugh more than watching Corrupt Boon go off on guardian or ele.

I will always say Guardian. I have yet to see a full Warrior/Guardian team that fails a dungeon lol

definitely disagree with this one. The thief isn’t there taking any aggro from anything at all. While the warrior eats the damage because its easier to kill and doesnt disappear.

WvW roaming and skirmish? I’d say Elementalist. It provides your Warrior for much needed sustain and it wont be left behind while roaming like a Guardian or necromancer as sugested above, as the Warrior can be much faster. The Warrior has disengage and good reposition capabilities, something Guardian and Necromancer lack, but compliment well with an Ele.
The Elementalist can’t give you stability unless traiting 30 in earth which he/she most likely wont, but the Warrior can give stability to him/herself, so a Guardian wouldn’t be as needed in that regard.
The Ele can give you some peeling and reactive defense through aura share and reliable condition cleanse.
The Warrior is good at providing stuns, knockbacks, knockdowns, and most important, immobilize, which helps setting up the predictable burst rotations Eles and Warriors have, it helps stopping runners also.
It will be even better if the Warrior ever gets much needed buffs and most importantly, boon hate, which the Ele lacks.

My second pick would be Thief, almost just for Shadow Refuge alone, which allows for a quick escape, a reset or an easier ress mostly when outnumbered. The beefier Warrior would take most of the hits while the thief spikes down focus targets. The problem would be once SR (Shadow Refuge) is gone, the Thief lacks peels to put his Warrior partner in safety, so once SR is down and the Warrior gets focus fired, you could be in trouble. This could be solved in some ways with good positioning while the Thief spams Cluster Bomb in a Black Powder or Smoke Screen. This duo would have less build flexibility for the Warrior than with an Ele, but I think it would be good enough.

With that said, don’t get your hopes up, the Ele, Thief or whatever class is your partner, is most likely going to carry you. Warriors and definetly not in a good place in PvP right now. There are significantly better duos out there such as Ele/Mesmer, Mesmer/Thief, etc.

I disagree. Thieves are most powerful working with other thieves. The burst damage in those scenarios is scary.

I think the question assumes that a warrior is one of the classes though. If we are talking about general best pair combinations, that’s totally different.

I like buddying with either guardians, thieves, or mesmers on my warrior. I’d throw eles in there, but they always leave me to die if they get so much as scratched. Most thieves I’ve been with at least try to save me if I’m dying.

Thief, Shadow Refuge + Fury 100b out of nothing can let huge groups wipe.

You can never go wrong partying with a guardian really, unless you dislike being buffed constantly for standing near them.
