Q:
Best Dmg Stats for Sword MH+OH?
I’d think Rampager set for Prec+Pow+Cond.
Swords can be really good for condition build, but they also hit quite hard. I see potential for both cond based builds and power based.
I know it can differ greatly by traits… but, generally, is this right?
Precision > Power > Condition Damage > Condition Duration > Critical Damage
Burst DamageAnyone done the math and figured out the order of damage stats for sword main hand & offhand?
I’m not sure anyone has done the math on it, maybe Yojack, check his threads. One thing to keep in mind is that you get 50% condition duration from traits and another trait gives you bleeds on crit so your assessment is probably pretty accurate, maybe switch power and con damage around though.
I run Yojacks build and use full rampager(power, pre, con) with soldier runes and with 2 carrion amulets(power, vit, con) because i tend to tank a lot more, but now that i think of it that extra vit probably isn’t doing much.
crickits 80 ranger
crickets 80 warrior – current main

i would do condition>precision>power then rest as follows jsut because you get precision from shouts and stuff warriors get alot of crit just from utilitys and as swords your going to be bleeding anyhow even without crits
but i hadnt done the math theres to many dif things to take in by just seeing your weapons traits and stuff make a huge dif in math.
you want major Precision minor power and condition, why because when you crit it does a base 150% bonus weapon damage + max weapon damage (not random min:max). the higher your crit the more traits/sigils you proc which are a big part of builds. don’t worry about crit damage% you won’t near what you get just base 150% i think in full zerker exotic gear my ranger had like 100% that’s only like 2/3 increase, I gained more off of having major power than the what the minor crit damage% gave me with such low minor precision.
condition damage is ok not exceptional, it ignores protection boon and armor but the trade off is it can be easily removed with utility skills, that means you want to constantly apply them which is great because sword does a good job with that being 2 of its auto attack stack 2 bleeds each. along with being highly mobile it does good damage burst and damage over time only if you trait it properly, better than 80% other classes melee weapons can do as far as equal mobility and damage.

In sPvP Carrion Amulet, outside of it might be Rampager’s Amulet.
FYI, critical damage is pointless when you don’t have base, that’s why I said Carrion instead of Rabid or Rampagers for sPvP. Because in sPvP, Rabid and Rampager seems weaker than their PvE/WvW counterpart.
