Guild Wars 2

So I’ve been getting back into using my warrior for WvW but I’m having some trouble finding a good weapon setup. I play offensively for the most part but not glass cannon and I’m trying to find some balance between damage,mobility,control and ranged ability. Trouble is, their really isn’t a combination of 2 sets of weapons that can give you all 4 of these things. I tried typical GS/rifle but it lacked control, tried GS/hammer but I got destroyed in fights at a range, tried hammer/rifle but lacked mobility. Does anybody have any ideas as to how I should work this out?

Try Hammer, Sword + shield/mace with the immobilization trait.

I don’t quite understand best setup.
I have GS to smack down everything I want, but second set is changing all the time.
Depending on what I need, of course.

I run GS/Rifle. Mostly zerker and valk (all exotic gear).

No issues really. Comes down to how well I play.

Run bola, bull charge and ignore pain w/sig of rage for elite (swap to norn cat form if I need stealth for rare times)..

Folks want to be anti GW, but I leveled up using all the different stuff. PvP, I found it to do all I need. Rifle is solid also.

Hmm i would argue sword-mace/Longbow or rifle would better suit what you want since you want all 4. You get some cc from flurry + tremor and rifle butt or immobo arrow, mobility from sword and swiftness from signet of rage + get bull rush for extra rushing attack to close target distance, you get the ranged weapon + tremor is actually quite far for an attack even though its easy to dodge, and depending on whether you want good single target dps vs multi would depend on rifle/bow since sword-mace gives great single target dps and multi at close range.

I guess another choice could be sword-sheild/ranged weapon of choice, perhaps a bit less aoe CC, but shield can get you through a tough spot in wvw more often than i give it credit for. I guess its up to you =P

Try GS/ Sword + Shield. Really synergize well with each other. Bull’s Charges into hundred blades/Whirling Attack and if they run you can use sword’s leap skill to gap close and shield bash switch for another hundred blades/Whirling Attack and switch back to sword and use burst kill secure the kill if your not glass cannon.
