Guild Wars 2

Like the title says. Right now I’m using Greatsword/Longbow but is that the most optimal for PvE or can I do better?

I’m a noob (highest level char is a lvl 18 warrior), so my response might not carry much weight. BUT, I started out with greatsword/longbow and just last night played around with axe/axe and axe/mace and have been enjoying both combinations. As my secondary weapon I was switching between greatsword and longbow based on the situation.

Axe/axe is pretty much straight dps as I understand it, axe/mace will give you a little more control.

Axe MH is the most powerfull weapon a warrior can have for DPS. The meta was last month at Axe/(mace, sword or another axe as offhand) and GS as secondary weapon.

You only use GS for 100b burst or evade/shorten the gap but not for DPS.

Axe/mace, gs rotation is the meta. Sword is situational as an offhand and axe is just plain junk.

Warrior should carry all weapons and equip appropriately

Greatsword is an excellent weapong for 100b, vuln on auto chain, mobility, and the extra evade+damage. Axe however is more reliable damage on the auto chain a mace or sword offhand are proven to be the best, speaking in DPS terms. Rip (sword 4) can do very high damage and is more beneficial than mace ONLY when the party is maxed out on vuln stacks, otherwise mace is the better option for the 4 skill and tremor is very nice to have for trash mobs.
